Parador Hotel Canadas del Teide
The only building in the Nature Reserve on mount Teide, which rises 2,200 metres (7,000 feet) on the island of Tenerife
The island of the "Eternal Spring" with its unequalled climate, offers
enormous contrasts and a wide variety of landscapes in its different areas.
The interior recreates the ambiance of a mountain lodge both in the public rooms and bedrooms.
The Parador restaurant specialises in the exquisite and original Canary
cuisine. The chef particularly recommends:
"Puchero canario" which is a Canary Island stew;
Like all Parador restaurants there is a special gluten free menu.
It is worthwhile going to the town of La Laguna which is declared as the Heritage
of Mankind. Also visit the old towns of Villa de la Orotava and Garachico or go to the History, Science, and Cosmos Museums.
Tenerife, the "Eternal Spring island" invites you to visit the many examples of the Canary Islands traditions and folklore. The feast of the carpets and the "Romeria" celebrated in the village of La Orotava, some 28 miles from the Parador are worth a visit.
If you enjoy hiking, Mount Teide offers you an unmatched environment. Also worth visiting are the natural parks of Anaga and Teno.
With the clear airs of this mountain top being above most of the earths
atmosphere, it is a good place for astronomers to view the heavens and
the Parador has a telescope for the use of the guests.
All the rooms have a private bathroom and there is a telephone, satellite television and a mini bar.
There is central heating, gymnasium, and a heated swimming pool. Due to being 7,000 feet above sea level, air conditioning is not needed.
The Parador Canadas del Teide has a restaurant and bar, parking facilities (without security and limited places), currency exchange, lift, garden and satellite TV. Small conferences can be held and some rooms are specially equipped for the disabled.

My brother and i stayed here for three nights in February and found the hotel to be a Five Star experience in every possible way (reception, room, food, service, everything). I would love to be able to come pack to The Parador and it remarkable environment very soon.

Staying in the caldera is a wonderful thing to be able to do. This February (2015) was our second stay and even better than the first because we were familiar with the hotel and surrounding possibilities. Booking is very, very easy - and we took advantage of the concessions to older guests. Reception is first class - there have been no problems with the booking on either occasion. We have eaten in the hotel restaurant on both occasions. Each time there has been a large party of people alongside us yet the staff managed to serve us great food at the perfect rate. The wine list is excellent. After dinner there is a perfect opportunity to take a night walk to look at the stars. We will return in 2016.

Stayed for one night just after new year. Had hoped to stay a week - however, short break after apartment in the mountains was preferable. Comfortable room with fabulous view - daytime and night time: for once, waking at 3am was a delight! Afternoon's walking, sunset and cable car the following day memorable, as was the experience of, sadly, watching the mountain rescue teams in action. Friendly, helpful staff; excellent gin and tonics before dinner - however, very disappointing evening meal. Having dined well across the island in a variety of locations the menu left a great deal to be desired - croquettes memorable for all the wrong reasons! Overall would recommend and would return for another short break.
