We had an excellent stay. The Parador is well situated and very friendly. We have stayed here several times now and would certainly recommend it to anyone. The staff were very helpful and the meals were top class.

We stayed at 3 different Paradores. Santa Domingo was the most spectacular witn a fantastic hall and nics rooms. The reception was very helpfull and kind. The rioja wineyards is very close to the village for a trip around- bike or car. We enjoyed our stay for two nights and will surely recommend this parador to our friends

My husband and I stayed at the Santo Domingo parador in July. We truly enjoyjed our stay. Besides the fact that the hall is quite impressive we felt that the whole building was restorated and maintained in such a lovely way and with attention to detail. We had dinner in the restaurant and were extremely happy with the quality and taste of the food (and, may I say, we are not easy to please when it comes to food). And we loved the breakfast! The staff pay so much attention to detail. The selection was great. Even the most health-concious is being satisfied. And everything is prepared in lovely little portions, arranged on the buffet with great care. Truly enjoyed our stay - Thank you!

I drove round in circles 3 times until a friendly walker (of which there are many in town) informed me how to get in to drive to the Parador. Beware as there are 2 Paradores in the area. Santo Domingo de la Calzada is a great area of Spain for walking, relaxing and sightseeing of a religious nature. It was a very welcome stop on my journey. I do not have any negative comments save for my simple evening meal. I was tired after a long journey and wanted something simple, thus I ordered pork and beans ( a local dish according to the menu). I found many more beans than the 2 pieces of pork. The room was very comfortable, the receptionists were most helpful, there is covered or open parking available to guests and breakfast was plentiful. To lounge in the reception hall is a treat in itself with antique artefacts hanging or standing around. I look forward to another stay.
