We have used this hotel twice, as a night stopover having come of the ferry at Santander and prior to driving south to the Malaga area. We find this hotel perfect in all ways, location, quality of rooms. In fact I could not criticize it in any way. And the Chapel, wonderful.

My family, consisting of my two elderly parents, my twin brother and two adult nephews, had three room for three days, in October 2014. This was one of 3 Paradores that we stayed in including the one in Santiago. Frankly, we all loved all the properties, including this on in Cangis. The location feels rural, yet is less than 1/2 hour from the coast and less so to the Picos de Europa. We often went to Ribadesella for dinner or lunch, during our exploration of the northern Austurian coast. The youngest in our party, also hike the famous Cares Gorge, not far from the hotel. Most notably, we all loved the very generous and varied breakfast buffett. Truly, the Paradores and this property were exceptional. I highly recommended them.

My two friends and I had a marvellous stay at Cangas de Onis in Spetember 2014. A beautiful spacious room for the 3 of us in single beds with great views and everything necessary in the room provided. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals , also the special massage in a very harmonious setting. Staff were ever helpful, polite and courteous. The building itself was magnificent as was the surrounding countryside, nothing like it in Australia. Highly recommended.
