Parador Hotel Benicarlo
This Parador is located next to the quiet beaches of Benicarlo, in the
Costa del Azahar holiday coast.
The building has a classical but contemporary appearance, with the decor of the high standard expected in the Parador group.
The panoramic view of the coast is one of the attractions of this hotel.
The restaurant specialises in seafood and rice and has a special gluten free menu. The local dish is "alcachofa de Benicarlo" which is the famous Benicarlo artichoke. Amazingly for a holiday hotel, there is a very popular diet breakfast buffet!
During the months of July and August a barbecue is held in the gardens.
The building is air conditioned. Other facilities include heating, currency exchange, lift, satellite television, parking facilities (without security and limited places), garden, bar, restaurant, piped music, shop and facilities for the disabled.
This fishing port has an 18th century church that is worth visiting together with an archaeological museum.
The Parador of Benicarlo has a seasonal swimming pool, tennis court, gymnasium, sauna, children's play area and conference facilities.
There are many restaurants in the town most of which serve the coastal speciality of paella in the town.
The area specialises in growing of oranges and fresh orange juice is a delightful drink if the hour has not yet arrived for the local wine.
The local festival is the ”Falleras” (burning figures) which takes place in Benicarlo on March 19th. Each about 8 kilometers from the Benicarlo Parador, the Feast of ”Moros y Cristianos” is celebrated in Peniscola on September 8th, and the Carnivals of Vinaroz in February.
The Costa del Azahar is one of the Mediterranean coastal areas that has been least affected by tourism making it ideal for family holidays.
Distance from the nearest airport is approximately 140 kms, train station is 2 kms away and the nearest port is 140 kms away.

This was the only parador of the four that we visit that brought our lugage to our room. Large and comfortable bedroom with view at the hotel park and seaview and a large balcony. Good breakfast and a good diner buffet. Good parking place. We experienced a nice stay.

Regarding this Hotel, to our opinion this hotel is out of date. We receive a room with sea view, but the bed was for us Dutch people to small, for that we had a bad night. People were very friendly but when we ordered drinks from the bar, this took to long when it was on our table. Restaurants was perfect! Parking was also good. So we will ship this hotel the next time and look for other Paradores hotels. Our next Hotel will be with in two weeks in Lorca Success

We stayed in Benicarlo in October 2013 for the one night. The staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly. We avoided dinner due to previous comments on this site. Breakfast was great, a wide variety and good quality. The rooms were as expected; tired but clean. We found our beds comfortable and slept well. A sea view is not necessary, view to the gardens is just fine. The room was quiet, but being October, few other guests were staying at the Parador. Having a drink on the terrace was ideal after a long drive. There are supermarkets very close by for those who need to stock up for the next leg of a car journey. All in all, a positive experience.

First impression was not good. Looks like old (temporary) school. Diner was not the best we ever had but not bad. Room was ok with sea view. Pool was ok. Drinks at the bar or terrace perfect. Nice staff.
