Parador Vielha
The Parador in Vielha is in an area of unparalleled beauty, the Aran valley, of green and white landscapes beneath the radiant light of the Pyrenees of Lleida.
Ideal for skiers, ramblers and nature-lovers, the hotel’s rooms offer unbeatable views of the mountains, even more spectacular from the circular glazed restaurant.
Many of the hotel’s bedrooms have views of the valley and terrace. The restaurant serves olla aranesa (a local stew), wild boar and pescajus (pancakes) with cream.
Come to the Parador de Vielha for an unforgettable experience. Let the beauties of the Aran valley bewitch you, and relax in the Spa of the Parador.
Try the services of the Vielha Spa.

We went with some friends and stayed at the Parador. The Parador is beautiful and very well kept. The receptionist at check in was very cold and a bit of a grouch, but then another younger receptionist got involved and things went well. The same at checkout with the same middle aged lady. The young one was a great help and very corteous. We loved the town and the food. Food at the Parador is great and the service that night was excellent.
Our stay at Paradores Vielha was the best.
The area is beautiful, the rooms were nice and clean, the staff was very
kind and attentive, the best thing was the delicious breakfast !
When we go back to Spain we will always search for a Paradores hotel to stay.
we spent 2 night in this Paradoe. We came for one night but just loved the place and the parador and stay more. The Parador is in a great place near a very nice and welcomeing vilage. We had snow and we spent all morning in the SPA. Our room was big and had a great view. The retaurand was a disapointed, so the second night we went to eat diner in the village – the food was really good with a very resnoble price.
The use of the SPA is not free for the parador;s guests – and I would recomend the managment of the hotel to change that !!
My girlfriend and I went for one night, down from Toulous, FR, and on our way towards San Sebastian. The reception was a bit cold and uninspired, but curteous. We asked for a “nice” room and they offered us a better room for higher price but we grumbled and they gave it to us for free anyway. Besides, the hotel was empty. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was fine. We were really looking forward to the hyped restaurant and it’s local cuisine, but it was ok. The boar stew with white chocolate was cool, but a bit dry.
The room was nice. The hallways and room are really hot! They cranked the heater. We never even bumped into anyone in the hallway the hotel must be empty. Got a great deal for 60 euros. The town of Vielha is beautful. I would love to have seen it blanketed with snow…..
Otherwise, the hotel and town were nice. beautiful village
We enjoyed the Parador but we were expecting to find that it was in a quiet, even remote place. This is certainly not the case. Vielha is busy and the road on which the Parador sits is a major route between North Central Spain and South Central France and carries a lot of heavy traffic. We paid extra for a room with a view of the valley which was worthwhile as the the effect of the road was lessened. We took a drive out of Vielha to try and find the more remote areas and found a great hike through a skiing area to a refuge at about 2000 metres accessible only on foot. A worthwhile visit and the onward journey westward through the Pyrenees was terrific. A very different experience of Spain.
We brought out parents for my Fathers 80th birthday and started our second week touring Paradors. Spectacular views and beautiful scenery. The rooms were lovely. we struggled with the language, (my fault for only having terrible schoolboy spanish), (but their english was worse). The food was not what I expected, as it boasted traditional Spanish food. The food wasn’t as good as the hotel. Packed lunches were colossal. On the whole, a positive and enjoyable stay.
We had an excellent room with a great view. The staff was good and the restaurant beautiful, but the restaurant food was somewhat tastless, except the steak, which was the worst I have had in all my travels. The table next to us refused the steak and sent it back.
I would definitely return to the Vielha Parador again, but steer clear of the restaurant.
This being the third parador we have stayed in, I was in some ways slightly dissapointed as our room looked over the car park towards a busy road. The pool as already commented on was closed and this being the third week in June, we were disssapointed. The restaurant is very nice, food very good, however they must be aware of rising prices putting people off.
We stayed at the parador in June this year. The advertising material indicated an outdoor swimming pool and a spa with a variety of treatments, indoor/outdoor pool, sauna etc. It was clear that the outdoor pool was open in the summer and it may have been foolish of us to imagine that the middle of June constituted summer but we were very disappointed to arrive on a very hot day and discover that, even as residents, we could not swim without paying an exorbitant amount of money to use the indoor/outdoor pool in the spa.
Food was good but expensive. We have never stayed in a parador before but friends had given us wonderful reports. I have to say, we were rather disappointed and would not stay in Vielha again.
We have been staying at Paradors for over twenty years, this was the first time in Vielha, the rooms, reception, and views all excellent, we were not able to dine in the main restruant as it was closed for a private function , we dined in the other restruant the food was very good. My only comment would be that we found it very expensive staying and dineing
The Parador de Vielha was an excellent place to stay in the area.
The receptionists were very pleasant and helpful.
The room we had was lovely, plenty of room for us and lots of space for luggage.
We had a fantastic view from our room of the town below and the distant valley.
The food was excellent and for breakfast plenty of choice and always nicely presented.
We would love to return sometime!
