Parador Ubeda
In the aristocratic, monumental city of Ubeda, in its purest Renaissance plaza and next to some of its most beautiful buildings, the Parador occupies a palace, built in the 16th century and remodelled in the 17th,
which once belonged to the Dean of the Holy Chapel of the Saviour.
Behind the facade is a very beautiful inner courtyard, with a double gallery, the upper tier of which is glazed.
The comfortable and welcoming rooms are remarkable for the height of their ceilings. Particularly outstanding are the six rooms overlooking the plaza and the suite on the opposite corner, with panoramic views of the Plaza de Vazquez de Molina. Andalusian details and ceramics decorate the dining room.
Information and reservations at Parador of Ubeda

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was again to a very high standard. The room was fantastic with a super view. Not the best place to find. a sat nav is essential.
Car parking is away from hotel and could be a problem in busy times.
Never been to a bad Paradore!!
Absolutely lovely! We look forward to more Parador stays.
We needed a satnav to find the parador but it was delightful when we found it. Staff helpful and friendly, but we changed rooms to a higher grade one as the first was very dark. View from window fine and we enjoyed the courtyard for drinks and tea. Food also excellent and situation in a small and attractive town ideal for easy sightseeing. Recommended and good value compared with some, eg Granada..
We stayed just one night at Parador de Ubeda. We were met with professional kindness. Nice room which will need a little restoration in the future. But the bar and restaurant was not up to standard.

Best value of all the paradors we visited. Quite charming with the high ceilings and old style furniture. Helpful staff and right next to the prettiest church in the city and if you are there the right time of year (October), you can watch the sun set on it from your bedroom window. This is a small town in the olive groves and is filled with old Renaissance buildings. Nice place.
We stayed for 2 night. Beautiful location in the romantic and unique renaissanse center of Ubeda. Spacious room, I believe it was a superiore. Nice staff, some with no knowledge of English, others fluent. Wonderful breakfast. We did not try dinner, but went to restaurants in the vicinity. Absolutely recomandable.
We stayed at the Parador Ubeda from 5th to 7th September 2010. We were absolutely enchanted by the Parador itself and the old town. Our room overlooked the square at the front and I can honestly say we did not encounter any excessive noise from outside. The beds were comfortable and the staff were very helpful and polite. We had great difficulty finding the Parador as the signs were quite misleading and seemed to disappear altogether after a while. Fortunately, our Spanish is not too bad and so we kept stopping and asking the way. It was well worth the drive from Almeria airport and we enjoyed every minute of our stay there.
Parking was not a problem, we dropped our bags in front and parked a block away for free overnight. The Parador was pretty, but the rooms on the square were a little too loud to keep the doors and windows open and really enjoy the view, but very cozy when there was a sudden torrential downpour. Rooms were comfortable, food was good and the ceilings were amazing. I was surprised that we were charged more for a parador with less amenities than some others…Staff were very helpful. Town was lovely but filled with dogs and there are no laws about cleaning up after your dog, apparently.
We found it without too much difficulty and like others found the front desk staff quite helpful. Our room, a suite, had a sort of aristocratic elegance (unlike us) which we find charming and one of the main attractions for us of these less-visited towns in Spain. So we put up with the inevitable little problems like parking and slow bar service. The breakfast was indeed fantastic. One night for dinner we walked to a nearby plaza and found a neighborhood restaurant with outdoor seating and fabulous, inexpensive food. It was full, but two waiters obligingly carried out another (big old wooden) table and chairs for us. The other tables were full of families gossiping over wine and coffees, their kids kicking soccer balls, and we felt like the only tourists for miles.
We spent one night in the Parador. It was really difficult to find it coming from the south west. We drove round and round the old town looking for a way in: signs are inconsistent and seem to lead down very narrow one way streets to no entrys. Plan this in detail before trying! It seems odd that the enormous courtyard is not open to drop off bags. The room was perfectly comfortable but felt a bit brown and unloved. The basement bar is very nice. The restaurant is overpriced. The location is amazing and the staff are very professional…
I love staying in Paradors and the parador at Ubeda did not disappoint. It is in the heart of the historic centre. OK – parking is a nightmare but I was prepared for this, having read the comments and I parked in a square, walked to the Parador and then got directions to the prescribed parking place. No real problem. The staff throughout are very friendly and helpful.
The Parador has all the historic features one expects in most Paradors but is cosy. The bedroom was very comfortably furnished and the bed linen of high quality so a good night sleep. Finally, the breakfast was marvellous and set us up for the rest of the day.
The staff at the reception desk was extraordinarily helpful. The parador was a complete delight.
We stayed at Ubeda on 14th September 2009. Found the location of hotel OK, but more good luck than good directions. A GPS is essential if driving. Disappointed that our stay was at the same time as the upgrade of the plaza in front. But when finished it will be beautiful. Our room was very good and had direct access to the private courtyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The quality was what one expects in the Paradores.
We stayed at Ubeda on 11th September 2009. Finding the hotel was a nightmare, the front was surrounded with wire barriers, there were no signs to identify an entrance and the one way systems were horrendous. There was just nowhere to park and we had to get our car taken away to be parked in a private garage at a cost. We were not warned of this when booking and after a pretty tortuous drive from Bailen following a laden lorry with no chance of overtaking we were not at all pleased when we arrived.
The staff were very helpful indeed, our room was nice. The evening meal was average, but the highlight of the whole visit was the breakfast which was fantastic. It was one of the most comprehensive spreads I have seen.
We spent two nights at the Parador in Ă™beda and were not so happy about the rooms. With the lowest price category, we had the opportunity to choose between a dark room with nearly no external light and entrance-door to the patio or two other rooms with permanent noise from the ventilation system outside and the smell of food coming from the kitchen in the mornings, afternoons and nights…
We chose the latter one, because the staff told us that noise would only occur early in the mornings – which was not true. The building, however, was beautiful. We would just recommend to double check the room before deciding to stay there…
We stayed for two nights at the Ubeda Parador at the end of May. The building and location are great as well as the quiet bedroom and spacious bathroom. The staff was very friendly and staying at the Parador was the perfect way to start our roundtrip throug Andalusia.
I only would advise to publish on the website a better description of the way how to reach the Parador. Once you know it is very easy, but when you do not know which specific roadsigns to follow you might get lost in the small oneway streets of Ubeda as we did. One remark: the Ubeda Parador never replied our e-mails. When we reconfirmed our booking and wrote that we might arrive late and asked for the fastest route to travel from Almeria to Ubeda there was no answer. So at last we mailed to the general Parador e-mail address and Parador Promotions forwarded our request to Ubeda. Nevertheless there was never an answer. Travellers are always a little stressed, especially when they come from abroad and do not speak the local language. Guidance is very helpful and would make a stay in the Parador Ubeda even nicer as it is already.
We stayed for two nights at the Ubeda parador. We found everything to be very, very nice. The rooms were beautiful and “atmospheric” and the staff were friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed the courtyard – it was a very pleasant place to sit and relax. The town itself was well worth a visit.
parador of Ubeda is a very nice place on the core of one of our prefeared towns in andalucia. we spent 2 nights (17 & 18/04), all amenities in the room where excellent. no comment about breakfast, only to say that it was “pantagruelic”. we used the restaurant on the evening because the weather was too bad to go out, food and service were irreprocheable.
we found everything as required from a parador.
Most enjoyable place, absolutely charming. Excellent service, we arrived late and we were welcomed and assisted perfectly.
The room (three separate beds) was very nice, large and comfortable.
Only one remark: we were a little late for breakfast and some of the refills were either insufficient or slow. So maybe, when the parador is full, it would help to foresee a little bit more food and choice.
