Parador Trujillo

In the historic city of Trujillo, birthplace of explorers, this lovely Parador occupies the former convent of Santa Clara, with its atmosphere of peace and tranquility.Parador de Trujillo
Outstanding features of the interior are two beautiful cloisters: one with Renaissance arches and columns, the other bringing light into the building.

Ideal for relaxation, leisure and work, the hotel has monastic style rooms and details, spacious, quiet and pleasant lounges, noble bedrooms with wooden furniture and a bar-cafe next to the light-filled cloister of the Parador.

Great Paradore. Staff was friendly beyond expectation. Dining is a pleasure. Breakfast in the old chapel was special. The town is worth a walk about. The old castillo is terrific and well worth the climb. Cannot overemphasize the friendliness of the staff.

The parador of trujillo is magnificent like most of the paradores. We decided for Chritmas to travel from one parador to another.Trujillo,Carmona,Jaen,Ubeda and Toledo.
Quite honestly Trujillo was the most disapointing of all mainly because of the quality of service and the food.We had to wait for hours at the restaurant for a very poor quality. On top of it as in many paradores the WIFI was not working with no one to repair it. So go there but don’t eat there unless you are very patient and not interested by food.

Our visit to Trujillo was a wonderfully restful and uplifting experience, and the Parador complemented the character of the town.
The room was beautiful, quiet and comfortable. We did not use the restaurant apart from for breakfast, but the menu looked interesting and we would like to sample the cuisine next time – yes we would go back!
Our only disappointment was not being able to use an 18 euro voucher which was given to us as a Parador Promotion, and which we had left at home – it has now expired.
    Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay in Trujillo largely due to the town not the accomodation. Our room was very impressive at first glance but the air conditioning was poor and so sleeping was not easy. We opened the window only to hear the air conditioning unit – a bit ironic!
We ate in the restaurant one evening but it was a bit claustrophobic, the food was only ok and it was quite expensive – we ate for half the price in the town after that.
The staff were generally cheerful and helpful. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived but we were given a drinks voucher and when the room was ready our luggage was taken to our room.
Would I go back? Probably but I would ask for a room in the modern annexe where it was cooler.

The parador of Trujillo is very nice in particular the rooms are spacious and staff attentive and could speak English but I see that as minimum standard expected from this quality hotel. The restaurant was very good but breakfast could be better – in particular the room air conditioning needs attention urgently, it was stiffling when we stayed there in August close to unbearable there which made the start of the day unpleaseant. The swimming pool is small and has an unatractive garden surrounding it. And it is totaly child unfriendly. We have been to many paradores all around Spain but this was my least favourite and no doubts the worst value for money, for 350 euros a night a expect more hence I would not recommend it. During our stay the supporting panel at the back of the bed fell on top of the bed which could have really hurt us if we had been on it, it was fixed quickly but still!!

Now this is what we have been looking for! The Parador of Trujillo is a true beauty! Staff and reception speak English and were very friendly and helpfull. Our room was the best we had in a Parador, nicely decorated, large, great beds, great bathroom. The window could have been more wide, but hey .. this was a convent and rooms were small from the beginning.

The restaurant and food was good and recommended. At the time we visited the Parador there was a Cheese Fair in Trujillo. The Parador offered a special Cheese Menu which was very tasty!

Trujillo is a beautiful village to walk around. There is something nice to see around almost every corner! We highly recommend the restaurant “El Mirador de las Monjas” close to the Castillo. We had a great lunch there.

We highly recommend the Parador of Trujillo!
