Parador Tordesillas
In the historic Castilian city of Tordesillas, a crossroad since Roman times, stands this mansion, in a green, natural landscape.
A lovely wood of pines and a large, well tended garden surround the Parador of Tordesillas with the tranquil calm and serenity of nature.
The Castilian style dominates both the exterior and the interiors, with valuable antique furniture in the lounges. The tranquillity of the hotel and the spectacular blue of the pool invite one to relax.
Information and reservations at Parador of Tordesillas

Excellent reception on arrival. Accommodation was of a high standard. Pool was beautiful on cool days. Service in bar left much to be desired; waited for service for over one hour and then decided better to go elsewhere. This was a good decision. When restaurant is busy, service slips. English tourists should be informed about the existence of Real Colegio de los Ingleses in Valladolid. Worth a visit.
This was the busiest of the Paradors we saved in during our brief Spanish holiday. It was a weekend and a wedding reception meant that the staff must have been busy but we were not at all inconvenienced or disturbed by noise. The location is very convenient and Tordesillas seems a pleasant small town. I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
The best restaurant of any Parador my wife and I have visited over the past two years and fully conversant in English and French
We stopped here one night on route from Santander to Malaga and one night on the return journey. We also stopped at the Parador in Merida.
The reception was excellent and the hotel rooms everything one expects in a Parador. There is an excellent large outdoor pool and a small indoor one with jacuzzi.
You cannot easily walk into town from this Parador but we knew that on booking and the access from the main routes is very quick.
Our only negative comment is the lack of staff in the bar. One person to serve everyone at their tables including food orders was, frankly, daft but no doubt low cost for the hotel. Extreme patience was a definite requirement.
Your reception on arrival: Friendly and very efficient
The bedroom: Large well furnished with
excellent bathroom facilities en suite
The view from your room: over quiet woodland
The public rooms: Very spacious and nicely presented
The restaurant: Nice meal and service
Any noise: none
The location of the hotel: Good access to and from main road
Proximity to a town: too far to walk into Tordesillas but we knew that when we booked
Amenities: lovely jacuzzi and pool – just what we wanted
hemos estado varias veces ya en el hotel de Tordesillas. siempre contentos. No es el más bonito de todos los Paradores que haya pero es agradable, cómodo y tanquilo.
We have stayed several times at Tordesillas and have never been disappointed. The swimming pool must be one of the best you could find, and very welcome after a long drive north from Portugal or south from Santander. the restaurant is also good and the service attentive and friendly. Stupidly we left a couple of items in the wardrobe, but on calling from Portugal these were posted on to us and arrived safely some days later.
Stayed in May 2010. Room was large and entered through two doors which stops noise. The room was comfortable and the bathroom excellent. Maintenance elsewhere was not up to usual Parador standards: the indoor jacuzzi was cold, the fitness room had old equipment much of which needed repair, and the stair carpets were worn at the edges.
Service in the large restaurant was good, but after a day’s travel I often wish the Parador menus included the choice of generous portions rather than the “two beans and a new potato” of nouvelle cuisine.
The situation is unimpressive, on a main road next to an industrial estate, and too far from town to be able to walk. Most of the quite extensive grounds has been left to nature, although the front is well cared for.
As with many of the modern Paradores, OK for a stopover but not a great experience.
We were tres amigas and found that we shared a lovely, large bedroom with three beds and a nice park-like view and huge bath with two sinks. We loved the dining room and the bar – the food was outstanding for dinner and very good for breakfast. Housekeeping was excellent.
The location was ideal for our purposes. We spent 2 days in Madrid, then drove north to Tordesillas, a pretty little town and checked into the parador there. Then, each day we drove to a different location. Peñafiel and the wine museum in the castle is fun. Lunched at a bodega, visited the Abedía de Retuerta. Salamanca, that lovely university town on the river is wonderful and not more than an hour away. Finally, we drove back to Madrid on an alternate route and visited Aranda del Duero. Great lunch there, then home.
I do wish the desk at the parador had more information about places to visit and things to do.
Thanks for a lovely vacation.
Stayed one night en route from the Algarve to the ferry at Santander. On arrival the welcome at reception was first class, the hotel in general was excellent and the room was of the standard that I would expect from a Parador.Very quiet location hence a good nights sleep!
Just to echo the comment above, after having driven for seven hours I was slightly disappointed that the dinning room didnt open until 8.30pm although I did get a good sandwich in the bar to tide me over.Once in the dinning room I enjoyed my meal and the service was prompt and attentive. Although I would point out that this was the last weekend in October and the restaurant was fairly quite.
We stayed one night and everything was excellent, friendly staff, clean and well furnished rooms, beds very comfortable, view over the pine woods at the back of the hotel and secure parking.
We also stayed at Merida for one night and the same could be said of that hotel with the exception that we were unable to get anything to eat in the hotel until 8.30pm and the local restaurants were not open until 9,00pm.
The location was perfect, the rooms were superb, and the staff was more than helpful. Truly an amazing place. Highly recommended to all ages! Thank you for a wonderful stay/vacation.
The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and cozy. The service was great. Overall, the stay was wonderful!
Good and very quick access from main roads.
Room was large and clean. View was not fantistic but room was very quiet which meant a good night’s sleep after travelling.
As at Zafra, the restaurant was very disappointing. Waiting staff could not cope and were not particularly welcoming or helpful. Other people in restaurant had to shout at waiting staff to get their attention. Food expensive and not special.
Reception/Room/bathroom/Public Rooms/Restaurant/Location; Excellent
View from window was poor but that was not a problem as we were only there one night. We have stayed there before and may well stay again.
