We loved this hotel. It was chance that we chose this one over the other Parador in San F, but this one is beautiful – calm, cool, and welcoming. The food was excellent, service of a high standard, and the bedroom was comfortable and very well furnished. We spent our afternoons in the shady cloister, after sight-seeing in the mornngs. Spanish afternoons are rather long, as dinner is eaten so late! We were welcomed by the guitar-playing nun in the garden of the old people’s home next door, as our room overlooked their garden. An interesting town, as it’s on the Camino de Santiago – plenty to do and see in the area. A very good three-night stay – we’ll come again.

My wife and I stayed for just 1 night but wished it could have been longer! The building is superb, with plenty of character, our room was excellent, though the view was of some rough ground behind the building.
Our meal in the restuarant was very good, with a good slection of Riojas, and Navarra’s to chose from.
A tour around the small town was rewarding with a couple of nice looking Tapas bars, and anothe Parador, for next time maybe. City walls and cathedral were interesting also. I’ll stay again.

On arrival we had a problem with the booking (my fault) though Raul on reception dealt with it professionally and was very accomodating – top marks to him! Beautiful building with high quality furnishings, on the downside the hotel was very noisy at night due to a wedding party. The food was very good though the place lacked atmosphere. The town and local area were a bit a of a let down. Would I stay again? – Unlikely

We arrived very tired after long journey and the girl at reception was not very helpful in telling us where EXACTLY our room was located or where the elevator was. Although the key said 211 or similar we were actually on the 1st floor.

On the plus side the Parador inside was beautiful, room was very comfortable and bathroom very very clean.

It was a warm day and we would have liked to use the garden but it was being used for a first communion party. We were not permitted to go outside. Guests should come first!!

I came to the Bernardo Parador in Santo Domingo straight off the Camino. I was dirty, sweaty and very exhausted. Esther Prior was working at reception and treated me as if I were covered in diamonds. She welcomed me and found a glorious room that she thought would be soothing for me. She was never dissuaded by my appearance. I was so thankful to have a few days of rejuvenation before heading back out on the Camino (which I did finish). And to be treated with so much kindness by Esther really lifted my spirits. Congrats on such a wonderful asset to your company: Esther Prior!

We stayed at St Domingo in March 2010. The service was excellent and the staff very helpfull. The room was superb and we had no complaints at all. Everything that could be done to make our stay outstanding was done.

We stayed here for two nights on the 21/22 Sept,2009
Everything was first class, and the reception extremely helpful. We had a very comfortable standard room. The ambience was relaxing and quiet.
and the erestaurant was good, our only comment being that the head waiter could have been more attentive in showing the lady to her seat.
We visited Haro and Laguardia, which is a very attractive medieval town with excellent Bodegas. We recommend a visit to the Ysios Bodega

We enjoyed our stay at the Parador Sto Domingo Bernardo de Fresneda in July 2009 very much. The service was first rate and we were made very welcome by everyone at the hotel. Our only problem was the lack of air conditioning; we had to go out and purchase a fan in order to cool the room down to be able to sleep at night.
