We are four friends who stayed at this parador one night in early September after a fantastic walking holiday in AIgues Tortes. Dropping in from the street, we were taken well care of. Food quality was great, rooms were comfortable (especially after the packed huts in Aigues Tortes) and we appreciated the quiet yet central location of the Parador. Good access to internet was particularly appreciated, as I needed this to deal with a few work-related challenges. The nearby museum, where (among other treasures) they have an illustrated version of the Apocalypse from the 10th century, is an absolute must. I would warmly recommend this place for a stop while travelling through the beautiful region of upper Catalonia.

My wife and I spent 4 days in this nice hotel in June. The public areas are beautiful and our room on the 4rd floor was confertable and nicely furnished. The dinner and breakfest was excellent. Service at the reception and other staff is very friendly and helpful. An negative note: with some exception, the reception and staff is maily native speaking and English is poor. Communication was sometime quite limited.
    regards

We spent one night here in early May. This, and the Parador at Vic, were our most expensive stays, but well worth it. Our first room was fantastic, but we asked to be moved to a room that could not get any street noise (not that we heard any, we had just had too many bad experiences in Barcelona); the second room was great, but not nearly as large. Staff was very good. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the large lobby. Due to hunger, we chose to eat at the restaurant, since it opened at 8:30 PM and all restaurants in town seemed to open at 9. The restaurant was top quality; I was surprised to see the names of both the head chef AND the restaurant manager at the top of the menu; based on the food, wait staff, and ambiance, they were correct to list their names with pride.

Breakfast was so fabulous. We recognized a few items carried over from dinner, but they were delicious, so why complain? I believe that breakfast was shown on our bill as approximately 40 euro for both of us, but when we booked the room, we were not given a choice to not take it. Despite the high price, we do not object – breakfast was that good.

Finally, we appreciate that this Parador was inside the small town.

We only stayed for one night but had a lovely stay. The room was very clean and spacious with good views over the town and the countryside. The stff were very helpful too. The gym was a little disappointing but this was the only issue we had. Breakfast was delicious and there was a huge amount of things to choose from. We loves relaxing in the cloister in the evening, it was so tranquil and calm. In fact the whole Parador was peaceful and had a lovely atmoshphere. The market on the Saturday morning was on the doorstep along with a duathlon and kayaking at the water park.

I would thoroughly recommend a stay here

We had the advantage of a room with young traveller rate. Otherwise it would have been too expensive. Parking is expensive (outdoor, the indoor even more expensive). The hotel isn’t very charming but looks more like a luxury business type hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is super (better than our next 5* Parador). The pool is indoor under glass roof so very unpleasant in summer because of the heat. A pity there is no outdoor pool.

We spent one night on May. Our room – compairing to other Paradors – was very small. We didn’t like the location (in town). On the other hand – the diner was very good.

All in all an experience to be recommended.

We spent 3 nights at the ParadorSeu etc sleeping on the second floor. We found the noise of shoes walking on the wooden floor above very annoying especially as the guests upstairs seemed to walk around until mid-night.

Surely hotel floors should be carpeted.

We were politely and efficiently welcomed by reception. Not much warmth.
Service in the restaurant was professional and the food good.

We stayed one night at the Parador Seu d’Urgell at the back end of September 2009. Our Garmin GPS system found the hotel location with no problems. Our room on the 4th floor was spacious and spotlessy clean and comfortable. There was a particularly lovely covered courtyard area in the centre of the hotel just past the reception area which had a lovely ambience. We took our drinks from the bar there and chilled out. Although the hotel says that there is wi-fi internet access in the rooms, we found there ws no reception upstairs and the only area we could find a weak signal was in the covered courtyard. We had a delicous themed dinner in the restaurant celebrating 80 years of the paradors. The parking was in a secure private garage opposite the hotel, but we did object to being charged for that as it’s not cheap staying in the paradors. All in all though, a very pleasant experience.

My wife and I plus 2 friends took 2 rooms for 2 nights in early Sept 2009. We had an excellent stay, the location is perfect, rooms are comfortable and well apppointed, the public areas are beautiful, the staff are courteous and friendly. We were lucky to have the world champion kayak/canoe practices in progress, making the town lively and fun. Next time we will use this parador as a base for walking in the beautiful countryside nearby. You should hope to see other canoing and shoudl make a visit to the cathedral which is only 50 metres from the hotel.

Service sehr gut. Zusammenfassung: Top Etappen-Hotel (wir fahren 15000 km/Jahr mit Motorrad).

I spent one night at the Parador Seu d’Urgell in the middle of July 2009 with my wife under the Golden Days scheme. I had some difficulties to find the Parador, when you are using a GPS you are depending upon a street adress – I recommend that the exact adress is given when the confirmation is sent.
The Parador seems somewhat dark and dull, but the quality of the rooms are superb.
The internet connection was not wireless, but the front desk handed out a wire and I had my internet connection.
The restaurant was expensive, but the dishes from the menu were very good. The service at the restaurant was excellent, except that you have to learn young waiters that you serve the wine to the lady first (after the man has tasted the wine).
The breakfast was also very OK, and I will also mention the waitress as the best experience of our stay.
There is a garage in the cellar of the Parador and we experienced during our tour of 2 weeks that it was expensive compared with cities of the same size.

I spent one night at the Parador Seu d’Urgell at the end of May with my husband under the Golden Days scheme. Our room on the fourth floor was spacious, well furnished and had superb views over the mountains (if you ignore the dustbins directly below). We had dinner in the restaurant which we enjoyed although we thought it was on the expensive side. We chose local dishes from the menu which were very good. Be warned though, portions are on the generous side. We did not use the hotel facilities so I cannot comment on those. Breakfast deserves a special mention as it was superb with a vast array of salamis, cheeses, fruit, pastries, etc. Also worth a mention was the waitress who served us at breakfast. She was charming.
