  1. Philip Rees says:

The only hotel to stay in spectacular Ronda is the Parador with its perfect location giving panoramic views over the beautiful gorge and mountains. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms excellent and the standard of food and service in the restaurant of a high standard. Being Coeliac, I require a require a gluten-free diet and the Parador provides for every need by offering a specialist menu as well as breads and cereal.

  2. John Williams says:

The location and room were wonderful. Unfortunately, the manager was never available to address a problem experienced with parking. There was also a problem with the restaurant, as we were advised to wait in the bar and wait to be called to a table. Two hours later, we found out the restaurant had closed and we never got to eat. Management was also not available to address this issue.

  3. Jack Nelson says:

We stayed one night in the Parador Ronda and it was wonderful. We had a great room overlooking the gorge which was clean and well appointed. The best thing about the Parador is the location — step outside and you within walking distance of everything in town: the sights, shopping and restaurants. Hiking to the bottom of the gorge is just around the corner. The staff was professional and helpful, the breakfast delicious.

The only issue is driving in and out of Ronda can be challenging (and this has nothing to do with the Parador of course). One wrong turn and you are are on steep narrow streets and lost very quickly (this is from someone who knows first hand!)

  4. Ralph Barrett says:

Rhonda is one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. The Parador was not only the best Parador we stayed in Spain, but also the best overall hotel. What makes Ronda special is the subtle blend of old and new in the town. What makes The Ronda Paradore special is the beautiful facility, but mostly the wonderful people and staff. EXCEPTIONAL service and care. The buffet breakfast was superb. This is a must visit in Spain. Thank you for making our vacation special.

  5. Susie Burnard says:

Our stay at Parador Ronda was delightful. It is very well located, in an amazing position overlooking the gorge. Our room was very comfortable and the buffet breakfast could not have offered more. Overall a real highlight of our stay in Spain and we would love to go back one day!

  6. Jenny Clark says:

Fantastic views and lovely rooms. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We definitely intend to return Ronda and would stay here again. We were on a 10 day trip staying in Gibraltar and then travelling up through Spain. The drive from Gib to Ronda took us through some spectacular scenery, and when we arrived in Ronda the Parador was the icing on the cake.

  7. Robert F.Garner says:

This experience was absolutely tremendous – the hotel is superbly situated, and our room had two balconies giving us a view of the gorge, and over the garden and swimming pool. We found the reception staff and restaurant staff most helpful, and with regard to the latter the food was simply excellent and the advice of the waiting staff most helpful. breakfast was one of the best buffet breakfasts we have ever encountered – keep up the good work – we would love to stay here again, and would recommend this Parador to everyone.

  8. Colin & Val Carswell says:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ronda – the hotel was first class – everything from the service to the room itself was excellent. The view from our balcony was astounding and we could not fault anything about our stay.

Only one suggestion – an English newspaper would have been a nice touch!

what a delight, not only was the room a treat, the view off the totally private rooftop balcony was spectacular… then look at the same view at night and its even more incredible.. the front desk clerk said we were in for a treat and she was right..this was an incredible sight right in the heart of this historical gem of an ancient city.
the parador staff were fabulous as was most of the hotel industry in Spain, but that is where it stops, most restaurants and other tourist stops, fall way short when it comes to the English language…for a country that needs the tourism dollar as bad as anywhere, Spain is verrry backward and can be frustrating. you can travel most anywhere in Europe and English is not a problem.. It starts with educating the young in school, for this I would grade Spain -D

  10. Merry Rabb says:

We stayed one night at the Parador Ronda and I would highly recommend it. Our room overlooked the pool, so not all rooms have a view of the gorge. But the room was very nice and the balcony overlooking the pool/garden was very pleasant. Probably the best thing about the hotel was the location – very central and within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. It was nice to walk right out of the hotel to the Puente Nueve or to the walkway along the edge of the gorge.

My only complaint is we had quite a long wait to check out. Only one person was working the desk for checkout and a line formed due to the fact that the guest in front of me was using a credit card that was not accepted. Other hotel employees came and went behind the desk, into the office and back out and not stopping to help, while the young lady working the desk tried over and over to run the credit card and the guest refused to give her another card to try. It seems odd during peak holiday season to have only one person at the desk during prime checkout time and to allow a line to form and make people wait for one difficult person.

  11. Sarah Jones says:

Wonderful Parador, our first ever stay in a Parador. Rhonda Parador was very central and well kept. We only spent one night there but wish we could have stayed longer. Our room opened out onto the pool which was small but adequate. The view into the gorge was amazing. The room was large with sitting area and it was spotless. The bathroom was also large and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast wasn’t just your ordinary eggs and bacon, there was allsorts of things to choose from – cold meats, yogurts and tasty things on spoons. I would definately recommend this Parador to anybody. Everything was as it should be, so didn’t have to trouble the staff for anything. Free computer for guests in lobby, nice touch. Will definately stay here again, but for longer next time.

  12. Walter Nickerson says:

This is in our top 3 parador. Best for Town/Views and the staff were really great. Others Comments say it all

  13. Doug Sim says:

Don’t need to add to the superlatives on this blog. V.V.good parador in prime town position – so you just walk out of the door into the townGo to the old Moorish Quarter outside the gates of the old town for the best tapas.

  14. Michael Bentley -Zug CH says:

Superb hotel- absolutely a must. Fantastic location, very nice rooms, great staff and very enjoyable breakfast buffet. Not only is the location great for the views but also to wander around Ronda and enjoy the historic town. Don’t miss it!

  15. Kevin Taylor, Zurich Switzerland says:

We had a fabulous stay at the Parador in Ronda. The room was spacious, very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The views are to die for. We will certainly recommend it to friends that want to visit Andalucia. Keep up the good work.

  16. Melanie Staff says:

We stayed in May 2010, and I think we must have been given the best room in the hotel – a duplex right on the far end overlooking the gorge. When we were shown into the room it took our breath away! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful during our 2-day stay, and the food was fabulous. The only thing that spoilt it for us was the large (over 100?) party of Japanese tourists staying there at the same time, who took over the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. If you can avoid that, this is a great hotel!

  17. Marco Buldini says:

When we are in Spain we usually stay at the Paradores, if rooms are available; and it’s always a pleasure, a real taste of Spain. The one in Ronda has a beautiful view of the gorge, if you have the right room. The location is perfect especially during la semana santa, you can stay on the hotel balcony and see all the processions. The staff at the reception was very professional and the room was nice and pleasant. I warmly recommend to stay at the parador of Ronda.

  18. D.J. says:

I will give my comments with great pleasure as we really enjoyed our
stay at your parador. Ustedes tuvieron la amabilidad de darnos un upgrade por el mismo precio y eso fue tremendo! nuestra habitacion tenia una vista espectacular!

  19. T. and B. Henningsen, Denmark. says:

    May 16, 2010.
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Andalusia.
We have stayed in 5 different Paradores – all of them very good – but Ronda was one of the best – especially regarding the location of the hotel and the view from our room. The breakfast buffet was exellent – the best of all the Paradores we visited.

  20. Sam Sherstad says:

Parador Ronda was the lodging highlight of our 3 week trip thru France, Spain and Portugal. Our room with a second floor walk out patio was fantastic. The view of the bridge and deep gorge was super. We enjoyed the hike to the bottom of the gorge and I shot a ton of photos day and night with the bridge and parador shot from every angle. I wish I could post these here.
Breakfast was great. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The location in Ronda couldn’t be better. We enjoyed the drive up to Ronda from Costa del Sol and also our drive on to Cordoba.
This was our first stay in a parador and we certainly hope to do it again.

  21. Barry Mitchell says:

We have visited Ronda town many times and eaten in the parador cafe but this was our first stay and we were delighted. Our room had excellent views and was well appointed. We found all the staff efficient and friendly.
We even had a good laugh with the reception staff on check out when the couple we were travelling with thought we had paid the bill and we thought they had paid. Only when we got to the car ready to drive off did we discover that neither of us had paid. Red faces all round.

  22. Vince & Natalie, Sussex-UK says:

Wonderfull location. Large, clean, tastefully designed room practically overhanging the gorge(we were lucky with our room choice/allocation) Friendly staff always offering good service.
Although breakfast was excellent we were slightly dissapointed with the ‘closed in’ appearance to the dining room and didn’t care to dine here in the evening…

  23. jane w says:

We stayed for one night in March in a superioir room. Well worth the extra for the fabulous view. It really is an extraordanairy setting. We were well treated by the staff throughout and had a lovely evening meal and an exceptional breakfast buffet. The following morning was dull and wet so I enjoyed sitting in the lounge reading whilst it cleared up. No one hassled me and when a fire alarm went off the manager explained the procedure to me. Altogether a good stay.

  24. Edwina Sperling says:

Our stay in March, 2010 at the Parador in Ronda was very nice. The staff was very efficient and helpful. The location is perfect for seeing everything in the town. We had a room w/ a beautiful view. We found the bar service sort of slow. Did not eat in the restaurant as it was empty when we came by around 8:45. Breakfast had a large selection of things and was very efficiently presented. We had lunch outside on the terrace which was nice, and the staff made us a “lunch-to-go” in the car one day and were very accomodating about that. We also stayed in the Parador in Granada which is a wonderful location too, with excellent and helpful staff (though the bar/tapas service there was pretty bad).

  25. Petri Lagerstedt, Helsinki FIN says:

When living in Marbella, we visited Rondas Parador for a weekend, and found it was a patch of heaven. Will recommend and visit if possible.

  26. Janice pattison says:

I stayed one night in the parador in January 2010. The rooms(superior) were very good and the view fantastic. The location of the Parador is perfect for wandering around town and eating out in the many good bars in town – mainly in the main street – very lively!
My big disappointment was the breakfast. There was a lot of choice – both international and Spanish but the quality of what was on offer on the day I stayed was not good. In fact some of the choice seemed to be from a buffet from the night before! An example of this was the Salmon canapes, they were stale. The Spanish omelette was dry and the “shots” of vegetable and fruit juices smacked of the night before.

  27. A&M Santa-Cruz says:

Despite the rainy/windy weather, our experience in Parador Ronda was excellent. The hotel, its facilities, the location etc. were all perfect. We had a wonderful time and have recommended the Parador hotels to many of our friends already.

  28. John & Sandra Martin says:

Parador de Ronda was our first night of a tour of Andalucia staying at the Paradors of Carmona, Ubeda, Jaen, Granada and Malaga Gilbralforo in November. The hotels were a major highlight of the trip. I’m sure we would have appreciated the Duplex room if we had stayed longer than one night with its terraced balcony overlooking Tajo gorge and La Cuidad de Ronda (Old Town). Fantastic views, even though it was cool, damp and misty. Might not be quite so appreciative if you don’t have a ‘head for heights’ or suffer from vertigo. Appreciated all the ‘little details’ of the room housekeeping. The convenient underground parking was also appreciated. Dinner service was more ‘efficient’ than friendly by the Head Waiters, though we enjoyed the meal. A warning to those who do not like eating late, evening meals in the Parador’s generally do not start until 8.30 pm. If we had stayed a second night we probably would have chosen one of the good looking restaurant’s that are close by. The guys at reception were helpful, while the girls did the necessary. I like a swim, but the pool was closed, being ‘out of season’. Hotel’s location was convenient for both old and new parts of the town, being right by the Puente Nuevo so obvious to find. So thank you Parador de Ronda for helping make a good start to this holiday.

  29. D J Strawbridge says:

Great location and the room had a wonderful view. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant food and service was very good. The lounge bar service was polite but very slow.
We saw no road signs for the parador on our way into Ronda. In other towns and cities we have visited the Paradores are always well signed.

  30. Ellen & Sveinung, Norway says:

We enjyed our stay at Ronda in the end of October 2009.
The location of the hotel was exactly as we hoped and had seen on several photos on beforehand. Parking in Ronda seemed like a night mare, so we were happy for the hotel parking.
The staff were very helpful, and the view from our room was fantastic with a beautiful sunset! We had the opportunity to take a swim in the pool in the garden.
Ronda is a lovely town with lots of nice restaurants.
The cave of Pileta with its beautiful 25 000 years old cave paintings is only 20 km away and is highly recommended!

  31. Douglas Pounder says:

The Ronda Parador is amazing! We had a two floor suite overlooking the gorge that was spectacular and was so well appointed. We enjoyed drinks on our balcony while enjoying one of the world’s most spectacular views. The restuarant was very good with fine service from the well trained staff. As they say in real esate “location is everything and this hotel simply has a location that is the best.

  32. P.F. says:

The location in Ronda was fantastic and the view from our balcony was
amazing. The room was large but the 3rd bed was not good. This bed was for
our 20 year old daughter and it was very, very small – it was the size of a
small child. It was inside a box!!! The room had a sofa and I think this
should have been a sofa bed. Unfortunately our daughter did not sleep well
in this bed. We told the reception staff but they did not understand. I
suggest that you change this bed and put a sofa bed in the room. Apart from
that, we had a lovely stay.

  33. Chris Dungey says:

We stayed in Parador Ronda in early September2009 and cannot rate it highly enough. We did not have a “superior room” but still had stunning views. The staff were all excellent and helpful and the breakfast as good as one could wish. The pool could have done with a good clean but the water quality was excellent. The parking appeared a bit pricey but it is just as expensive in municipal car parks so grin and bear it. Paradors are not cheap but are very good value for money. Ronda is full of excellent restuarants and has a tremendous history. The nearby caves are unspoilt and well worth a visit and the countryside and mountains around quite spectacular.

  34. Sharon Hiley says:

The Parador at Ronda exceeded our expectations. the reception staff were very helpful, the room – a duplex suite – was extremely comfortable with glorious views from the balconies. The parador is situated very conveniently in the centre of the town and in easy walking distance of sites such as the bullring, bridge etc.

  35. Bill & Torben says:

The Parador Ronda is a fabulous hotel located in an amazing location at the edge of the cliffs with stunning views, yet in the center of the action. You can’t get much closer to the bridge, yet it feels very private and cozy once you enter your room or go out to the lovely pool. And the breakfast is certainly an added attraction, with the same wonderful views as well as complete buffet dining. We rarely stay in the “nicest place in town,” but in Ronda we felt we did! If you are making the effort to travel to Ronda, we highly recommend this hotel! And if you are going there during the warm seasons, definitely bring your bathing suit as the pool, while small, is one of the most spectacular sites in the world.

  36. Sue Stubbs says:

We toured Andalusia during September staying in Paradores in Ronda, Cadiz, Carmona, Cordoba and Granada. The Parador Ronda was beautiful and, because of its location, particularly enjoyable. The room was excellent, facing out over a lovely patio to the town. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine on the terrace late in the evening and the service provided by all the staff was top rate. The underground parking was a great bonus given the lack of parking amenities in the town generally.

  37. P. F. says:

We have returned home from a trip to Spain in September and we stayed at 2
Paradors. I have always wanted to stay in Paradors and I was not
disappointed – they are very good.
The location in Ronda was fantastic and the view from our balcony was
amazing. The room was large but the 3rd bed was not good. This bed was for our 20 year old daughter and it was very, very small – it was the size of a small child. It was inside a box!!! The room had a sofa and I think this should have been a sofa bed. Unfortunately our daughter did not sleep well in this bed. We told the reception staff but they did not understand. I suggest that you change this bed and put a sofa bed in the room. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay.

  38. Linda Florida says:

While this was a pretty hotel, it was not the highlight of our trip. We opted for a very expensive duplex room, imagining the wonderful view that has been mentioned by many. Beware, not every room has that postcard view. Although we checked in about 2pm, there were only two rooms not already occupied, one where half the view was a wall, and the other where 80% of the view was a tree. The room was over 300 euros for the night, and was not worth the premium price. The resturant where we ate dinner (not at the hotel) had a much nicer view. The room itself was large, well appointed, and the upstairs balcony, if you leaned over the rail, did have a beautiful view.
All of the staff except one of the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The one woman was not.
We did have the buffet breakfast. It was tasty and fresh, but uninspired.
The underground parking was very convient, as was the central location of the hotel. I didn’t see any part of the hotel that seemed old or historic. Everything was in first rate condition.
I can highly recommend visiting the Cueva de la Pileta, an ancient cave with primitive cave paintings like you see on TV or a in book. It was about 45 minutes away by car. Hardly anyone goes. There were only 4 cars in the little gravel parking lot. We hiked back to the cave, and there was one employee who sold tickets and refreshments, then locked up the stand, unlocked the gate to the cave, lit 3 kerosene lanterns and took the 8 of us on the 1 and 1/2 hour tour. She spoke some English. It was the one of the most memorable experiences of our 2 week driving tour of Spain.

  39. Catharina, Netherlands says:

Definitely recommended, stay 2 nights if possible! Fantastic location in beautiful Ronda, excellent restaurant (food, service, views), nice rooms/bathrooms (we had one with a huge terrace), nice pool, convenient parking garage. Value for money.
And last but not least: very professional, friendly, service oriented reception desk employees.

  40. Ian Bavin says:

General Comment: Beautiful Town, Fabulous Parador I will be back.
Reception: Warm friendly welcome extremly helpfull
Room: Sensational locatoion and terrace with awesome views, Very clean and comfortable
Pool: A welcome respite from the oppresive heat, but lacked a bar sevice even to the garden area!
Restauraunt: Excellent breakfast, intresting Dinner but somewhat spoilt by the waiter having a bad day and being brusque and not very welcoming. This experience drove us to seek sustenance in one of the many splendid restaurants in the town after the first night.
Lobby lounge: Comfortable but no bar sevice until after 18:00
We have stayed in a lot of Paradors but Ronda is one to revisit! Thanks to all the staff who helped make it a memorable and enjoyable stay.

  41. m watts says:

Definately one to visit. The hotel is in the perfect place to explore Ronda and the staff and locals were all very helpful and friendly. There is a lot to see and we wished we had booked two nights instead of one as we walked for hours and still didnt see everything we wanted to.The parking facility is underneath the hotel and we had no trouble in securing a space for 20 Euros

  42. Nicole Bosmans says:

We stayed at the Ronda Parador in May 2009 – It was our first time but hopefully not the last one. We very much enjoyed our stay.
The welcome at the reception was warm – our room was very comfortable with view on the gorge. The parking located in the hotel’s basement is very practical.
We visited the historic part of the town as well as the new part with the bullring and a beautiful parc offering a splendid view on the surroundings.
We have not tried the restaurant – maybe we should have done so !
We will certainly recommend its accomodation !

  43. Jessie and Preben Wandall, Denmark says:

The Parador of Ronda is a lovely stylish cosy and modern parador with excellent interior and spacious rooms. Do not hesitate to have a superior room, you will enjoy the fabulous view of the gorge. It’s a splendid hotel situated in the very center af the old city of Ronda.
Add to this a friendly and professional staff and a lovely breakfast, and you know, that you would want to return, and that you would not hesitate recommending this parador to your friends.

  44. Hajo Patschkowski says:

Nearly perfect. I will never have to look for another accomodation in Ronda, and I will be back soon !!
Only one little thing : The music which was performed outside the Parador, was quite pleasant for a couple of minutes. But when you have to hear it all day long, it simply turnes out to be a noise.

  45. Zheng Xu says:

During our recent trip in earl May to Andalucia, my friend and I stayed at Parador Ronda for one night. The staff are friendly and helpful. With their recommendation and help, we were able to visit Cueva de la Pileta within our tight schedule. The Room was comfortable with a good view even though it was not facing the gorge. Our dinner at the restaurant was lovely. I enjoyed the food as much as the service. I would definite stay there again and explore more the beautiful city of Ronda.

  46. Sara Mallech says:

Everything was excellent with the staff most helpful. Incredible city.
    Expensive taxis.

  47. Shelly Waldman says:

Our stay at the Parador in Ronda was the nicest hotel of all for our visit to Andalusia. The view from our large and well appointed room was spectacular, the food for both breakfast and dinner was delicious, and the staff at the front desk were most helpful. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. Ronda is magical. Don’t miss it.

  50. Kirsten Leckszas says:

The “Parador Ronda” is INCREDIBLE. Our stay there was a highlight of our recent trip to Anadlusia. The room we stayed in had an unbelievable view of the gorge, which is lit at night for a breathtaking scene. The Parador staff, from the registration desk to the dining room attendants were truly sincere in wanting to accomodate our family. We plan to visit again on our next journey through the area.
