Parador Ronda
In the town centre, in a privileged position next to Ronda’s famous Puente Nuevo bridge, built in 1761, the Parador of Ronda occupies the former Town Hall.
The impressive setting has spectacular views of the ‘Cut’, a river gorge 120 metres deep. The interior is decorated in blues, greens, yellows and reds, with brightly coloured fabrics on the sofas and curtains, and large, light rooms. There is a pool, cheerful bedrooms with lovely views and comfortable duplexes with terrace. The Hotel restaurant offers excellent Andalusian dishes.

Parador de Ronda was our first night of a tour of Andalucia staying at the Paradors of Carmona, Ubeda, Jaen, Granada and Malaga Gilbralforo in November. The hotels were a major highlight of the trip. I’m sure we would have appreciated the Duplex room if we had stayed longer than one night with its terraced balcony overlooking Tajo gorge and La Cuidad de Ronda (Old Town). Fantastic views, even though it was cool, damp and misty. Might not be quite so appreciative if you don’t have a ‘head for heights’ or suffer from vertigo. Appreciated all the ‘little details’ of the room housekeeping. The convenient underground parking was also appreciated. Dinner service was more ‘efficient’ than friendly by the Head Waiters, though we enjoyed the meal. A warning to those who do not like eating late, evening meals in the Parador’s generally do not start until 8.30 pm. If we had stayed a second night we probably would have chosen one of the good looking restaurant’s that are close by. The guys at reception were helpful, while the girls did the necessary. I like a swim, but the pool was closed, being ‘out of season’. Hotel’s location was convenient for both old and new parts of the town, being right by the Puente Nuevo so obvious to find. So thank you Parador de Ronda for helping make a good start to this holiday.
Great location and the room had a wonderful view. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant food and service was very good. The lounge bar service was polite but very slow.
We saw no road signs for the parador on our way into Ronda. In other towns and cities we have visited the Paradores are always well signed.
We enjyed our stay at Ronda in the end of October 2009.
The location of the hotel was exactly as we hoped and had seen on several photos on beforehand. Parking in Ronda seemed like a night mare, so we were happy for the hotel parking.
The staff were very helpful, and the view from our room was fantastic with a beautiful sunset! We had the opportunity to take a swim in the pool in the garden.
Ronda is a lovely town with lots of nice restaurants.
The cave of Pileta with its beautiful 25 000 years old cave paintings is only 20 km away and is highly recommended!
The Ronda Parador is amazing! We had a two floor suite overlooking the gorge that was spectacular and was so well appointed. We enjoyed drinks on our balcony while enjoying one of the world’s most spectacular views. The restuarant was very good with fine service from the well trained staff. As they say in real esate “location is everything and this hotel simply has a location that is the best.
The location in Ronda was fantastic and the view from our balcony was
amazing. The room was large but the 3rd bed was not good. This bed was for
our 20 year old daughter and it was very, very small - it was the size of a
small child. It was inside a box!!! The room had a sofa and I think this
should have been a sofa bed. Unfortunately our daughter did not sleep well
in this bed. We told the reception staff but they did not understand. I
suggest that you change this bed and put a sofa bed in the room. Apart from
that, we had a lovely stay.
We stayed in Parador Ronda in early September2009 and cannot rate it highly enough. We did not have a “superior room” but still had stunning views. The staff were all excellent and helpful and the breakfast as good as one could wish. The pool could have done with a good clean but the water quality was excellent. The parking appeared a bit pricey but it is just as expensive in municipal car parks so grin and bear it. Paradors are not cheap but are very good value for money. Ronda is full of excellent restuarants and has a tremendous history. The nearby caves are unspoilt and well worth a visit and the countryside and mountains around quite spectacular.
The Parador at Ronda exceeded our expectations. the reception staff were very helpful, the room - a duplex suite - was extremely comfortable with glorious views from the balconies. The parador is situated very conveniently in the centre of the town and in easy walking distance of sites such as the bullring, bridge etc.
The Parador Ronda is a fabulous hotel located in an amazing location at the edge of the cliffs with stunning views, yet in the center of the action. You can’t get much closer to the bridge, yet it feels very private and cozy once you enter your room or go out to the lovely pool. And the breakfast is certainly an added attraction, with the same wonderful views as well as complete buffet dining. We rarely stay in the “nicest place in town,” but in Ronda we felt we did! If you are making the effort to travel to Ronda, we highly recommend this hotel! And if you are going there during the warm seasons, definitely bring your bathing suit as the pool, while small, is one of the most spectacular sites in the world.
We toured Andalusia during September staying in Paradores in Ronda, Cadiz, Carmona, Cordoba and Granada. The Parador Ronda was beautiful and, because of its location, particularly enjoyable. The room was excellent, facing out over a lovely patio to the town. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine on the terrace late in the evening and the service provided by all the staff was top rate. The underground parking was a great bonus given the lack of parking amenities in the town generally.
We have returned home from a trip to Spain in September and we stayed at 2
Paradors. I have always wanted to stay in Paradors and I was not
disappointed - they are very good.

While this was a pretty hotel, it was not the highlight of our trip. We opted for a very expensive duplex room, imagining the wonderful view that has been mentioned by many. Beware, not every room has that postcard view. Although we checked in about 2pm, there were only two rooms not already occupied, one where half the view was a wall, and the other where 80% of the view was a tree. The room was over 300 euros for the night, and was not worth the premium price. The resturant where we ate dinner (not at the hotel) had a much nicer view. The room itself was large, well appointed, and the upstairs balcony, if you leaned over the rail, did have a beautiful view.
All of the staff except one of the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The one woman was not.
We did have the buffet breakfast. It was tasty and fresh, but uninspired.
The underground parking was very convient, as was the central location of the hotel. I didn’t see any part of the hotel that seemed old or historic. Everything was in first rate condition.
I can highly recommend visiting the Cueva de la Pileta, an ancient cave with primitive cave paintings like you see on TV or a in book. It was about 45 minutes away by car. Hardly anyone goes. There were only 4 cars in the little gravel parking lot. We hiked back to the cave, and there was one employee who sold tickets and refreshments, then locked up the stand, unlocked the gate to the cave, lit 3 kerosene lanterns and took the 8 of us on the 1 and 1/2 hour tour. She spoke some English. It was the one of the most memorable experiences of our 2 week driving tour of Spain.
Definitely recommended, stay 2 nights if possible! Fantastic location in beautiful Ronda, excellent restaurant (food, service, views), nice rooms/bathrooms (we had one with a huge terrace), nice pool, convenient parking garage. Value for money.
And last but not least: very professional, friendly, service oriented reception desk employees.
General Comment: Beautiful Town, Fabulous Parador I will be back.
Reception: Warm friendly welcome extremly helpfull
Room: Sensational locatoion and terrace with awesome views, Very clean and comfortable
Pool: A welcome respite from the oppresive heat, but lacked a bar sevice even to the garden area!
Restauraunt: Excellent breakfast, intresting Dinner but somewhat spoilt by the waiter having a bad day and being brusque and not very welcoming. This experience drove us to seek sustenance in one of the many splendid restaurants in the town after the first night.
Lobby lounge: Comfortable but no bar sevice until after 18:00
We have stayed in a lot of Paradors but Ronda is one to revisit! Thanks to all the staff who helped make it a memorable and enjoyable stay.
Definately one to visit. The hotel is in the perfect place to explore Ronda and the staff and locals were all very helpful and friendly. There is a lot to see and we wished we had booked two nights instead of one as we walked for hours and still didnt see everything we wanted to.The parking facility is underneath the hotel and we had no trouble in securing a space for 20 Euros
We stayed at the Ronda Parador in May 2009 - It was our first time but hopefully not the last one. We very much enjoyed our stay.
The welcome at the reception was warm - our room was very comfortable with view on the gorge. The parking located in the hotel’s basement is very practical.
We visited the historic part of the town as well as the new part with the bullring and a beautiful parc offering a splendid view on the surroundings.
We have not tried the restaurant - maybe we should have done so !
We will certainly recommend its accomodation !

The Parador of Ronda is a lovely stylish cosy and modern parador with excellent interior and spacious rooms. Do not hesitate to have a superior room, you will enjoy the fabulous view of the gorge. It’s a splendid hotel situated in the very center af the old city of Ronda.
Add to this a friendly and professional staff and a lovely breakfast, and you know, that you would want to return, and that you would not hesitate recommending this parador to your friends.
Nearly perfect. I will never have to look for another accomodation in Ronda, and I will be back soon !!
Only one little thing : The music which was performed outside the Parador, was quite pleasant for a couple of minutes. But when you have to hear it all day long, it simply turnes out to be a noise.
During our recent trip in earl May to Andalucia, my friend and I stayed at Parador Ronda for one night. The staff are friendly and helpful. With their recommendation and help, we were able to visit Cueva de la Pileta within our tight schedule. The Room was comfortable with a good view even though it was not facing the gorge. Our dinner at the restaurant was lovely. I enjoyed the food as much as the service. I would definite stay there again and explore more the beautiful city of Ronda.
Everything was excellent with the staff most helpful. Incredible city.
Expensive taxis.
Our stay at the Parador in Ronda was the nicest hotel of all for our visit to Andalusia. The view from our large and well appointed room was spectacular, the food for both breakfast and dinner was delicious, and the staff at the front desk were most helpful. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. Ronda is magical. Don’t miss it.

The bedroom was comfortable and well decorated
The view from the room and the balcony was lovely
Restorant - the food was satisfactory
Location-in the center
The “Parador Ronda” is INCREDIBLE. Our stay there was a highlight of our recent trip to Anadlusia. The room we stayed in had an unbelievable view of the gorge, which is lit at night for a breathtaking scene. The Parador staff, from the registration desk to the dining room attendants were truly sincere in wanting to accomodate our family. We plan to visit again on our next journey through the area.
