It is a beautiful parador and we had a wonderful, historically furnished room with lovely views on the 4th floor. The welcome was quite formal and the receptionist at the time didn't seem to speak much English. The evening meal in the restaurant was adequate, but the breakfast buffet was very good. We would recommend the Parador for its beauty and nearness to Madrid, Toledo, and some very interesting locally made ceramics. Everything spotlessly clean but our stay was marred by unfriendly staff. No-one smiled or made us feel welcome. The bar staff, in particular, made us feel we were a nuisance. The attitude of one of the waiting staff in the dining room was appalling. She was abrupt to the point of rudeness. Breakfast was thin on the ground, with little choice. We certainly will avoid staying here in the future given that we had stayed in two other paradors in the same period where we had totally different and superb experiences. My only comment on all the paradores is that the direction maps to find them are inadequate for those of us who are not local residents.
