Parador Nerja
The Parador de Nerja is on a cliff overlooking the sea, in an ideal spot to enjoy the beach, which is reached by a singular lift; the coastline and the lovely natural landscape of the area.
The entrance to the building boasts a splendid garden whose greenery contrasts with the blue of the pool.
The spacious, light-filled interiors are comfortably furnished with elegant decorative details. All the rooms in the hotel have large terraces looking onto the sea (except basic rooms). The upper rooms also enjoy spectacular views over the Mediterranean and the mountains of the Sierra Almijara, and the beautiful cliffs of this rustic Malaga coast.
Information and reservations at Parador of Nerja

We stayed 3 days in late November 2011 at Parador de Nerja. We found your staff very serviceminded and firendly. The room was perfect as the breakfast. The town of Nerja was beautiful. The only small remark we have is that we could have got some more help with the transport from the Airport of Malaga to Nerja.
We stayed for the 3 days of Christmas 2011 to enjoy the banquet of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day lunch. From the moment we checked in the experience was faultless. Lovely room with sea view, wonderful meals with attentive service. We ordered tea in our room every morning and it arrived spot on time. One day we had continental breakfast in our room (after the huge Christmas Eve dinner) and it was excellent. The staff were superb throughout. It was a wonderful visit and we can recommend it to everyone. The Ritz in London could not do better.
Stayed for 4 nights in late September. Enjoyed it very much. Did not eat in Parador as town is easily accessible and there are lots of cafes and restaurants. Access to beach by lift was good – did try the walk down and up but glad we had the lift option. Grounds were lovely and pool idyllic. Location is quiet. Easy to find as well signposted. Staff were approachable and helpful.
Not surprised that most comments are so positive. We stayed for three nights this year, having enjoyed it overnight in 2010. The staff are perfectly fine by the way (reception cheerfully booked us forward to two further Paradores, the breakfast waitress was very alert and pleasant, and it is nice to feel that you can have a simple bar supper on the terrace served with great aplomb). The giant ombu trees, with their contorted roots, are a notable feature of the pool area. The lift to Pleya Burriana is a tremendous asset. Well-situated for exploring the area (the Caves of Nerja, and a multitude of quieter, smaller beaches which you will have to discover for yourselves)…
We spent a perfect week at this beautiful Parador. The staff were welcoming and efficient and the room overlooking the well kept garden and swimming pool was just what we required. The pool was clean and inviting and there were plenty of sunbeds with shades and a plentiful supply of towels.
The hotel was quiet at night but not too far from the bustling centre of Nerja with its multitude of cosmopolitan bars and restaurants.
The Parador’s private lift to the sandy Burriana beach below, with all its seafront restaurants, offers an alternative lifestyle. Be warned, however. The lift closes at 8.00pm and the walk to the hotel up the cliff-side path after a heavy meal can be quite daunting.
The restaurant was to a standard expected in a Parador and the morning breakfasts could be taken at leisure being available until 11.00am.
Car parking was no problem and the nearby mountains and countryside, dotted with the white-washed villas with brightly coloured bourgainvillea and tropical fruit trees, should be explored to appreciate the beauty of this part of Spain.
Paradors are not cheap – but you get value for money. We definitely intend to return for another week next year.
My wife and I spent one week in the Parador Nerja in early September 2011 and had a really wonderful time.
The hotel is really nice with a good swimming pool and relaxing garden overlooking the beach.
The hotel room although a little dated was spotlessly clean and had a super view out to sea.
I found all the staff to be helpful and was particularly thankful to the reception staff who were very helpful in sorting out a change to our return air ticket.
We will certainly return as often and as soon as we can.
John Brady, 11.10.2011.
Spent 9 wonderful nights at the Nerja Parador and were not disappointed. We had previously stayed in September 2010. Staff were excellent and although we had seen comments re the Reception staff we found them particularly helpful.
Gardens spacious with terrace having the most magnificent views. Location between old town and Burrianna beach, just perfect. Hope to be back again. Thank you.
We stayed in your wonderful parador sept.10th for only one nigt. We had to leave our room at noon, so we stayed at the poolside, since our flight was leaving at.18.00.
We have stayed at the Nerja Parador on several occasions and think it is located in a beautiful position. The staff are usually excellent, however, on our last stay, we found the lady behind the bar was sadly lacking and only offered half measures on the drinks which, given the price, was disappointing. Otherwise all was perfect.
We visited the Parador in Nerja for the third time in June. My husband and find it perfectly located for the beach and restaurants, with the main twon within easy walking distance. The range of food choice for breakfast is very good, accomodation very comfortable, clean and staff very friendly.
We were both impressed with the pool, the temperature of the pool certainly didn’t feel as cold as previous visits.
We will definately be visiting again and highly recommend others to visit.
We got married over in Nerja in June so we stayed in the Parador for our honeymoon for a week, it was a lovely hotel and the staff were lovely, the cleaning ladies were very good and really nice, the room was immaculate and they changed the towels practically every day and the sheets were always clean. the pool area was lovely and the beach. The only things i found that it was lacking was the breakfast selection was very poor for a 4 star hotel, there was only 1 key for the lift down to the beach and only 1 key for the room, also there was no salon/spa, indoor pool or gym etc. which i have to say while stayng in a 4 star resort i would expect those kind of amenities and also we did not hear of any night time entertainment in the hotel which i find is quiet poor.
I did have a lovely stay but if all these things were there i would definately go back but there just wasnt enough to offer especially for the price – which in my opinion is very over priced for what you get.

It was great time at the Parador Nerja. I stayed 1 night on June 22.
The staff was kind, and the parador was very nice.
Location, Beach, Relax sight, Swimming pool, and the Breakfast… Everything was good.
If you plan to visit to the south Andalucia, Stay at the Parador Nerja and take your time.
This was our third experience of this hotel and we hope to return many more times and more frequently

Lovely Parador hotel, room was lovely with good size balcony with side view of the sea and beach. Good idea with the lift from the hotel to the beach.
Only issue was with some of the staff behind reception. Perhaps it is cultural differences, but a couple of the male staff were very brusque, and didn’t want to be helpful. Most were great.
Nerja itself is lovely. Would recommend both hotel and Nerja town to anyone who asks.
A bit more training for the males at reception though.
While agreeing largely with the positive comments here , I would go further and say that the service in the paradore group throughout Spain are exemplary .
The desk staff at this hotel regrettably require some robust retraining in courtesy .
My experience was of being subjected to crass and ill-mannered reception staff was a memory I would rather apply the ” delete” button to.
It was our second visit to the Parador de Nerja .We visited 4 years ago and I am pleased to report that the high standards have been maintained .
The rooms are well maintained and very clean and the grounds are very well tended .
We stayed for two nights to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary. We were happy with our room and lovely view. The breakfast was nice and the staff friendly. It was good to wander around the little town in the evening. The best restaurant in town was just past the cathedral on the left and served traditional food.
The sea was cold though as it shelved quickly but the hotel pool made up for that if a little chilly.
This was our first visit to mainland Spain and were very impressed. Parador seems like a hotel chain to revisit.
We were very impressed with this lovely hotel. It is convenient both for the town and the beach and the standard and service was excellent.
The view from the room was fantastic and we particularly enjoyed the garden and the pool.
We will certainly be returning next year
We stayed 2 nights in a ocean view room in Sept. The room was excellent, exceeding our expectations. Well maintained and very clean. We had a balcony to enjoy the view. The view of the sea and the grounds was very good, and we could see down the length of Playa Burriana, which we never left. The reservation process went well, even though I made lots of changes. I ended up calling the reservation people more than once, they were always helpful and courteous and professional at all times. Hotel staff was helpful with driving directions. The free computer in the lobby worked very good. The elevator to the beach is a wonderful feature.
Everything pleasant about this Parador. Would recommend it.
Stayed here for 10 nights from 23rd September. It was just perfect. Staff were very polite and helpful and rooms immacuate. Breakfast on the terrace was fab in this shangrila location. Hope to visit in 2011.
We stayed in the Parador Nerja for only one night – not long enough. Spacious room with a beautiful view. Grounds were amazing and included an elevator to the beach below. Will stay there again but, for longer.
Charm, warmth, and convenience defines Paradore Nerja. From the free parking to the excellent food this is a potent package. You expect the view to be great (it is) and the property to be well maintained (ditto) but the surprise comes with the expansiveness of the grounds which can support many people doing just what they want (relaxing to playing). I won’t soon forget watching the pick up soccer replay of the world cup championship amongst some young guests while also enjoying watching cruise ships meander past on a warm evening in late July
.
There’s wonderful beach and cliff. I wanna stay in nerja next time. So beautiful nature never forgot.
The parador in Nerja is an exquisite hotel both in terms of location and ambiance. The rooms are just perfect and the balcony for each room extends the space and atmosphere. This was our second visit and this time took our son and his wife. They will be returning later this year as will my wife and myself.
Try the restaurant. We ejoyed the local regional ‘taster menu’ and thoroughly enjoyed the food.
We will be back. Welcoming, helpful, quiet, convenient, beautiful setting.
Wonderful location with large clean bedrooms and bathrooms. The location makes exploring Nerja easy and pleasurable-without moving the car-whilst the lift down to the beach and restaurants is most convenient.
All of the staff we encountered were efficient and congenial and willing and able to deal with all requests.
Highly recommended.
We stayed at the Parador in May 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and efficient; the room was comfortable, and the views from the room was great. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Had we not had another reservation in San Pedro de Alcantara, we would have stayed an extra night. The location is perfect for visiting nearby towns, which we did.
We have already recommended the Parador de Nerja to family and friends. When we visit Spain again, we will certainly stay at the Parador.
My husband and I enjoyed our May stay at the Parador in Nerja immensely. Everything was excellent including the staff, superior room, views, service and food. We are hoping to return to this hotel for a much longer holiday in the future!
My wife and I stayed at the Parador in Nerja a month ago and enjoyed it immensely. It was our second visit but most certainly not the last. High on the cliff the location is wonderful and the hotel itself excellent. As at all the Paradores the room was good, with a lovely balcony. The breakfast buffet was great, and the service too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paradore Nerja April 14th and 15th 2010. It is magnificantly located at the top of a cliff with amazing views. Our room was spacious and had a huge balcony overlooking the gardens, pool and Mediterranean Sea. There is an elevator down to the beach (a great benefit) which is bordered by restaurants and shops. The staff were warm and friendly, restaurant food was delicious and there’s a breakfast buffet with a wide variety of choices available. We also liked the fact that there was a number of current English/American newspapers available each day for sale at the front desk. We took tons of pictures and will recommend it to our friends. It’s just too bad Nerja wasn’t located closer to Canada!
Can definitely reccomend this superbly located Parador right on the cliff top over looking all the beach activity with out getting involved. The lift down the cliff is ideal for us older ones and then a gentle promenande is a delight.
The staff attention , especially in the dining room was first class and my wife’s gluten free requests were fully met.
It is 45 years since we were last in Nerja but it retains it’s charm and is not too developed.
Our second stay at the Parador, Nerja. Location, service and quality all of the highest level. Staff very friendly and helpful. Weather rubbish.
We have stayed at the Parador in Nerja for the last three years in February. We had a wonderful time – everything was perfect – staff, room, bathroom and the best breakfast we have ever had. The view from the balcony overlooking Burriana beach was wonderful and the facility of the lift to the beach was great as it is quite a climb uphill on the way back. It is in a superb location – a short walk into the town. I would particularly praise the staff who were all excellent. Can’t wait to get back.

The staff on Reception were exceptionally helpful and polite. It was the best welcome we have received at a Parador especially as we had made a mistake with our booking and they were so helpful and understanding.
The view from our room was stunning and the large balcony a real bonus.
Our only complaint would be the tired state of our bathroom and dated decor in the bedroom. I think perhaps some of the rooms have been refurbished but not ours on the top floor.
Excellent location within a short walk of the Old Town with its great shops and restaurants.
Staff were most helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast was one of the best experienced at any Parador.
Highly recommended for a visit and easily accessible from the Malaga Autovia
We enjoyed our visit to the Nerja Parador and will certainly visit again.
We found all the staff very helpful from the initial reception to the chambermaids.
The position of the Hotel close to the town and overlooking the beach and sea is first class.
We particularly liked the service of the lift to the beach a bonus when you get to our ages.
A first class Hotel in every respect
One of the highlights of our first-ever trip to Spain was the double bonus of the beauty of Nerja–perched on the coast–AND Parador Nerja’s exceptional location (so close and walkable to the town), accommodations, friendly service, food, and pricing. Without hesitation, we (two couples from the Washington DC area) want to return ASAP.
This was our 5th visit to Hotel Parador – Nerja – we love it.
The rooms are modern, well equiped and very clean.
Breakfast has everything you can desire.
The reception staff are very helpful and pleasant.
We can’t wait to return next year.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Parador and very much enjoyed it. It was very peaceful and we particulary enjoyed having breakfast on the large terrace, with lovely see views. The hotel rooms are modern and comfortable rather than plush but we did have a lovely large furnished balcony. Very large choice for breakfast and the staff were pleasant and friendly. The best features are its location and the serene atmosphere.
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Parador Nerja in June this year and have decided to go back in October with her Parents to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Certainly the perfect hotel for the older traveler looking for a little luxury and an amazing vista’s.
My husband and I loved our May stay at the Parador Nerja. Breakfast on the terrace with that gorgeous view is my idea of pure heaven. We will be looking for excuses to return.
My husband and I stayed at Nerja Paradore at Easter and thoroughly enjoyed it. All was luxury and convenience – extremely pleasant. In fact we spent the week touring south central spain using Paradore hotels and would recommend them to anyone.
I stayed at the Parador in Nerja for a wedding two weeks ago – i only stayed for 2 nights but wished it could be longer – this hotel is the ideal place to base yourself when having a holiday in Nerja. It is close to town -but not too close … the breakfast facilities are excellent and the hotel has its own lift to the beach
i would highly recommend it
We had a wonderful time in your Hotel, staff very friendly and helpful,
room was delightful and breakfast a treat. We hope to visit your Hotel and Nerja again, sooner rather than later,
Ian and Ann barton.
