Comments Parador La Palma

The Parador de la Isla de La Palma is located in an area of great scenic beauty, close to the capital of the island and to the airport known as Parador de La Palma
‘El Zumacal’, within the municipal area of Brena Baja. The Hotel building is newly-constructed with traditional Canary Island architecture. It has an extensive garden of 44,000 m2, home to native plants and fruit trees allowing us to enjoy pleasant walks along several paths where the plants are identified by their scientific names.

Stupendous views over the Atlantic Ocean invite us to relax in this incomparable hotel. In the restaurant we can taste magnificent traditional Canary Island produce, including a great variety of fresh fish such as Pompano and Cherne, amongst others.

Below are some comments of guests who recently stayed in Parador La Palma.

My wife is suffering from Parkinson’s, and we were concerned about the room we had reserved. No reason to worry it appeared. The room was perfect. However, new worry: Would I be able to carry out the functions that healtcare do home in Norway? After explaining the problem to the friendly staff at the reception a very able lady turned up from the nearest village. Not only did she accompany my wife in the bathroom and around the hotel. She learned us some useful Spanish, and made our stay enjoyable in such a way that we definitely will come back.

You will get her name if you contact the hotel.

We had a very nice holiday. What follows may be helpful. The published directions from the airport to the parador are confusing. It would be better to tell guests to take the main road from the airport to Sta Cruz, turning off at the roundabout signposted for Llos Lanos and Los Canarios, to take the turning for Los Canarios and drive to the 1st set of traffic lights (at San Antonio) and then to turn right at the lights and follow the main road for just under a kilometer.

We were very pleased with the Parador and with our holiday.

Among all the Paradores I have stayed throughout many years traveling to
Spain the La Pama one is my favorite .
The Staff is very friendly and I feel like coming home as soon as I register at the reception.

The Breakfast excellent in a nice atmosphaere.
Even that it rained ” cats and dogs” before christmas I felt secure and protected within the walls.
    I surely will come back.
Paradores are one of the nicest things Spain offers.
    Best regards

This is the third Parador we have visited during our travels to Spain and it did not disappoint. The room was spacious, well-appointed and with a magnificent view of the ocean. The breakfast was generous and offered a wide selection of delicious foods. And the restaurant as quite excellent. If we return to La Palma, this is the only lodging we would consider.
