Superb location with fabulous views and interesting garden.
Comfortable, stylish and quiet room
More and better signs in San Sebastian would make it easier to locate when arriving for the first time.
Food good but not very imaginative; several Canarian restaurants are better.
Would happily stay again.

We stayed one night in November 2012 on our way to La Gomera. The parador was wonderful - elegantly furnished rooms and bathrooms with wonderful sea views from its clifftop perch. Peaceful and tranquil surroundings with lots of little places to sit in the grounds.
The food at dinner was beautifully cooked and presented with typical Canarian specialities even if service a little chaotic!
We went on a recommendation from friends and would heartily pass this on-it's lovely!

We stayed 2 night in July. very pleasant all in all. Staff very polite and helpful. Garden beautiful and well kept. only critical comments are that the menu is quite limited and that it is not possible to get the local beer - Dorada. And then the bathrooms sooner or later - well best sooner - needs to be upgraded. For elderly persons the bathtubs are life threatening in comparison to the modern shower cabins.

But still a very friendly and pleasant stay. But not cheap in any way

As you will see above, we stayed in November 2009, and had such a lovely time that we returned in April this year, 2011. We were very, very disappointed. We had been given the same suite as last time, unfortunately it smelled so badly of sewage, that we had to be moved to a different room. Our polite complaints to the manageress, produced the reply that she knew about the smell! We found here very dismissive of our complaint, to the point of rudeness. This beautiful hotel needs a change of management, or a management who cares.

Stayed for 2 nights in April, beautiful hotel in an amazing location on top of a cliff! Room was lovely with separate sitting room and huge balcony with views of Tenerife and Mt. Teide (room 233 I think).

Very quiet (except for an enthusiastic cockerill!) and wonderful building generally - gardens full of interesting plants and little paths and secluded seating areas. Pool looked very nice although didn't actually use it as weather was not so good. However, even in the rain the lovely courtyard made an excellent place to enjoy a drink and read a book. Staff very friendly (even helped me with my Spanish) and food very good.

One comment would be that better driving instructions are needed from the port up to the hotel - we did a few laps of the town before finding our way through the one way system and up the cliff. However, all in all a very relaxing and pleasant stay and one of the best hotel rooms I've ever stayed in.

Christmas 2010
Loved it. Hotel, location, bedroom, public rooms, restaurant, pool, views, gardens, staff, San Sebastian, bus and ferry rides ( note that if going anywhere on the bus and back on the ferry you need to take a passport for the ferry although a driving licence seemed to do the trick), walks, local restuarants and bars all magic.

This was our second visit and not the last.

We had a wonderfult stay in November 2010, - 6 nights. We were lucky to get a room with sea view and terrace and the room and everything else was great. The restaurant was good, but the service was varying, a couple of the breakfasts we didn't get coffee until the rest of the meal was almost finished.
We would love to come back, but are reluctant since it's not possible to reserve a room with sea-view or balcony/terrace. As we come all the way from Norway and spend a lot of money on just getting there, we don't want to "gamble" on what kind of room we will get. We would be happy to pay a higher price if a special room could be guaranteed, - if this is changed we promise to come back real soon!

A fabulous position perched on the cliff, with lovely views both from our room and the beautiful gardens. A calm, peaceful atmosphere.
The welcome was warm and the staff very helpful and friendly.
We thought the restaurant had an interesting and well presented menu and the meals were plentiful and very tasty.
Our only thought is that given the distance/steepness from the town a shuttle service of some kind may be welcomed by less fit guests.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Paradore. Everything about the stay was perfect from the warm welcome we received upon arrival to our fantastic room and the beautiful grounds. We will definitely be back for more excercise ( we all loved the walk to and from the town ) and to see the parrot which by the end of our stay could do a perfect impression of our little girl!
Thank you everyone at the Parador for making our stay perfect.
