Great location, wonderful old building, tastefully decorated room, great plumbing in bathroom, lovely pool and garden, great food and location. Can't say enough positive, would stay here again and look forward to visiting other Paradors in the future. Chinchon was a charming town, too. Parador met and exceeded all of my expectations. Our room was very large, had lots of character and overlooked the beautiful gardens. Had dinner in the restaurant that night and can honestly say it was the best meal we have ever had in a Parador. Beautiful building inside and safe and secure parking two minutes away. Reception staff were very helpful and we can thoroughly recommend this Parador. Chinchon is very interesting for a stopover visit. Stayed at Chinchon on the 2nd June and had a fabulous stay. Our room was very large, had lots of character and overlooked the beautiful gardens. Had dinner in the restaurant that night and can honestly say it was the best meal we have ever had in a Parador. Beautiful building inside and safe and secure parking two minutes away. Reception staff were very helpful and we can thoroughly recommend this Parador.
Chinchon is very interesting for a stopover visit.

On arrival it's easy to be confused by the parking arrangements as you appear to be confronted by a "No Entry" sign, but you can enter this forecourt to unload your luggage - you then have to drive back down the hill (only 50 yards or so) to park your car in a secure underground facility - it cost 12 euros on our stay. The food is excellent although a greater range of lighter and less expensive dishes may be appreciated if staying for more than two days. Found the hotel ok by car and glad we did not end up driving through the main square / bull ring first to get to it! Would gladly go again. My trip involved a destination of Girona with an overnight stay at the Parador on my first night in Spain. Figuring out the Metro from the Madrid airport was easy; 2 Euros got me to the bus. The coach-style bus got me to the Parador, about 2 hours all together but the price was right. I did not have my laptop with me, but used the public library, right across the street, for free! Although I had a dreary, wet day for visiting Chinchon, I still saw a lot and enjoyed the town. Don't miss the garlic soup! I agree with all the positive comments above, and will make two points. We were made very welcome by the friendly, helpful staff who spoke good English and will definately stay again. Overall, highly recommended!
