Parador Carmona

The fertile plain of the River Corbones makes for an exceptional panoramic view from the fortress, where different civilizations have brought their best artistry and culture. The splendid views from the Parador of Carmona play backdrop to the fantastic pool, gardens, patio and Mudejar fountain, Cupulin room, and terrace. Parador of CarmonaThe large bright bedrooms enjoy exquisite classic decor which, alongside the Sevillian tiling, enhance this 14th century citadel.

The Bermejo Room with its tapestries and many antiques is a highlight. The refectory turned dining room is known as one of Paradores’ most beautiful, serving succulent seasonal and local dishes, with the partridge and Carmona spicy spinach dishes both standout.

Paradore Carmona was definitely the most unique place that we have ever experienced. It has quiet elegance and a refined unostentatious
appearance. The staff was professional and responsive. We felt very
special to have had the Paradore Carmona experience.

    Very well located parador.
We enjoyed the very kind and personal reception. The location , the building are superb .The huge swimming pool is fantastic and quiet.
The waitresses in the main restaurant were probably exhausted after a long journey because the service, although ok, was far not too customer friendly and the by the menu praised ‘local food’ was not a parador worthy

An absolutely wonderful 2 night experience in terms of location, buildings, culture, ambiance, views, customer service, quality of food and a fantastic swimming pool. We stayed in 4 Parador hotels in the week and it was by far the best with Granada a bit behind (but also top class and twice the price). Great base for visiting Seville (but remember to leave the car in an underground car park). High.ly recommeded

A very impressive Parador, that looks a bit like the Potala Palace in Lhasa – towing squarely over the plain. Magnificent buildings beautifully restored and adapted, with super swimming pool. Very cosy and homely rooms. Unfortunately much was spoiled by a “Food and drink” exhibition in the main foyer. This effectively blocked off use of the Moorish courtyard, and removed both public lounges from use. So a lot of sawing, nail-banging, etc, one night as stands are assembled. Then on the day a large well-heeled contingent of people arrived who seemed to think the guests were invisible. We went to Seville on the bus (the best way) but on our return still found the exhibition folk in full swing. Impossible to get waiter service in the bar so had to remind the bar tender of his job description.
Never got to sit in the lounges, or the calm of the courtyard, but the restaurant was good.
Don’t be put off, this probably only happens once a year. Carmona has some good restuarants and cafes in the main square, but wonder how many “paradorians” venture there – from curious looks from the locals.
