We have visited Tenerife in November and had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The building is lovely, cosy, very “homey”, it’s great to sit by the huge fireplace with a bottle of vine. The room was clean and warm (at that time it was only 2C outside at night.) The food was also very good, we loved the Teide ice-cream, which looks like the mountain :-) . The hotel kindly let us use the telescope at night, so had an awesome time stargazing. We fell in love with the area, and will definitely go back again :-)

A wonderful welcome from a friendly face at reception. the Room was absolutely First Class and exceeded expectations as did the quality of the Food at Dinner and Breakfast. All in all a great stay in a unique location – wonderful.

The Parador is in a special place but there is something disfunctional about it. Service at the bar in the evenings is either non-existent or takes ages to arrive. We had a late flight and did not know if we would arrive before the restaurant closed hence snacked at the airport and wanted to top up with a snack before 10 pm but could not. Despite the best efforts of the reception staff they could not persuade anyone to serve us at the bar. On another evening it took a very long time to get anyone to serve us a drink at the bar. There is great reluctance to give guests at least a basic bar service.

Great location, restaurant a little too formal for me, but the staff were friendly and welcoming. Some disruption due to the ongoing building works, but didn’t affect the standard of accommodation. Disappointingly noisy at night, could hear the generator running when we had the bedroom window open. We did leave in the middle of the night when a child staying in the room next door started to scream its head off at midnight and two o’clock (for the second night in a row). However, the cafe serves the best cup of tea and Berlina on the island, so worth going back just for that!

This was our second stay at the Parador in Tenerife, so we knew what to expect. We got an upgraded room due to repairs going on, so we had the room at the top floor with unforgettable 180° views on the scenery. We had 5 days far from the noisy south with great walks in the surrounding canadas. One minus though: the cable to the top was not working, but this is only an extra reason to come back. Which we surely will do.

Hotel impressed us from all points of vew. Hospitality of personell, exellent food in a cosy restourant, comfortable rooms with great veiws. Nowere but here you can watch unbelievable starring night sky and fairytail mauntains when sundown. Place where you you feell yourself calm and free from wild world among God’s nature. We will come back next year with our children.

Hotel great, room very spacious, the separate seating area was nice but lighting a little dim. good location and views, great to go out when the mass of visitors had left. Food very good at dinner and breakfst, very generous portions with some good local touches. Staff excellent in the resturant and front of house. Been past this many times before but our first stay, would recommend it. Mid May is a good time as the weather is very pleasant and the area not too crowded.
Wouls have appreciateded knowing that the pool was still out of order!

  9. Necke says:

We stayed in March 2010 for 4 nights in this Parador. We enjoyed it very much to start some wonderful hiking trails just infront of the house. The staff was always very helpful. Food and room were okay, the view to the Teide was great of course. We will come back once a year in April, hoping the summit then will not be closed!

Arrival: We did arrive from the airport Reina Sofia, we rented a car and did drive to the Parador from the south. Unfortunately the road was blocked at the last 4 km’s because of the haevy rain the week before. So we had to take another route, the road from the north. It did cost 3 hours more to arrive at the parador. It would be nice if we had being informed through the parador-management!
The bedroom was good, the view very nice, the restaurant good, the location very very nice and particular quiet!

  11. The Mc Elligotts says:

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Parador and would recommend it. It is a great starting point for walking in the national park and a real treat to be in the area after the day trippers leave.
The Parador was good value for money we thought and the food was very good and the drinks portions very generous! On the down side, the room was a little on the shabby side and the pool/gym very badly kept. Having to manage with one electronic key for the room and safe was challenging, especially in the dark!

  12. Pierow says:

We enjoyed every day of our stay at the parador. The swimming pool and the sauna not being working at the moment doesn’t really affect you at all. We shared the experience of having European cycling professionals in the hotel , cheerful guys and their coaches , lively atmosphere .We admired there huge portions of carbon hydrides , whilst we had our three course ( a la carte) , both parties enjoyed there meal .
Most relaxing in the evening: the huge fireplace in the lounge, (there is a second huge fireplace right inside the restaurant) .

  13. Alastair Scott says:

We have stayed in various paradores (although not for some time), and this one did not really compare well with others – particularly with those in historic buildings. Also, it seemed more expensive that I remember (but perhaps because of the exchange rate)

In particular, the food was not up to the sort of standard we remember at, say, Carmona. However, the service was energetic and helpful (if not sophisticated)

The room was OK, though the lighting in it was poor. We had just one room key, and this was simultaneously needed to unlock the safe and put the lighting on – and, without the lighting on, you could not see to open the safe!

The view from the room was splendid

  14. tom Kruse says:

tWe have been visiting many paradors and thought this would be the same level, but it was not the same at all . It was a lot of dust everywere, and the poolearea was a shame.
In the blanket in our bedroom there were hair from the last visitor.

The food were exellent and the hotel were cosy.

Hope for the next guests you will clean up the house.

    6th November 2009
This Parador provides guests a unique opportunity to experience truly spectacular scenery long after the day visitors have departed.
Golden years promotion provided good value and the room had excellent view of Teide.
Pre-dinner drinks with our friends by the roaring was a cosy introduction to the evening.
Dinner was O.K however seated near a window the dining room was chilly in contrast with the lounge area.
A very enjoyable stay which we would happily recommend to others.

  16. Fred Rondon says:

You cannot believe you are in the Canaries when you reach this warm, friendly Parador. The front desk was very helpful to us. The parador is located in a spectacular spot and there is great bird watching in the nearby public campgrounds. We were lodged very comfortably and happily. It’s great to enjoy the “Golden Years” promotion.

  17. Aileen Cresswell says:

This was our 2nd stay at the Parador (the last was some 4 years ago) and it was just as good the 2nd time round – perhaps better as the facilities had been greatly improved. Such a shame that this time round the evening turned cloudy so the stars weren’t at their best! Wonderful location, warm welcome, excellent service and amazing cleanliness – this must be experienced!!!

  18. janet rowland says:

We stayed at The Parador on Mount Teide during Valentine’s Weekend, for the second time, and thoroughly enjoyed everything. We even had the bonus of being there for Star-Gazing, which we enjoyed, except that it was so cold outside! We love the Parador, and certainly hope to stay there again. Delicious food, lovely warm rooms, excellent service.

  19. The Lancaster Family says:

What a wonderful experience to stay at this Parador. It is in a unique position in the crater of Teide and the landscape around is amazing. We were lucky enough to be snowed in whilst there but it was a comforting place to stay. Plenty of good food, log fires and efficient and friendly service meant we would have been happy to stay a little longer.

  20. Len Mann says:

I had a great star at the Parador on Tenerife. The staff, the food, the accomodation, everything was great. However I am an amateur astronomer and I was told that I could make use of the telescopes on site, but when I asked at reception I was told no, Sometimes on Fridays only.
