The hotel was easy to find in an interesting small town. Our room was comfortable and quiet, well-equipped and pleasantly decorated. We had a good view of the town and adequate parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful arranging a tour for us at a nearby winery. The restaurant was adequate. We would definitely stay another time and hope to try other Paradores. An enjoyable stay overall. Thank you We stayed at the Parador Calahorra for 2 nights this past July. The hotel was easy to find in an interesting small town. Its in a lovely spot with great accomodation. Our room was spacious and surprisingly peaceful also well appointed and comfortable. Its obviously well respected by the locals and Spanish holiday makers judging by the amount who were visiting the bar and restaraunt areas. The staff were courteous and generally helpful, even the waiter made special efforts to produce a Barraquito coffee. Downsides: Although breakfast was very ok the evening meal was less than average and really should have been better, also 2 Bombay + Tonics and 2 small beers = €28... wow!! Easy to find, centrally located in the town and good parking space directly outside to Parador. The reception staff were really helpful and courteous. To make matters worse the waiter was rude and tried to hurry us through the meal as quickly as he could, even bringing the bill to our table at the same time as our dessert. For this reason we would not return to nor recommend friends to stay at this parador. Reception staff and barman friendly and welcoming. The bedroom and public rooms were good too. The hotel was beautifully furnished and the rooms were spacious and provided us with everything we needed. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff helpful and accomodating. Some good local spots we discovered there were the Killkenny Irish pub, 21 for fine dinners, and La Mafia for good Italian food. In all of the mentioned places as well as the hotel we have always been treated like family, and remembered on subsequent visits with a warm welcome.
