We throughtly enjoyed our night at this beautiful Parador. We arrived a little earlier in the afternoon so we were fortunate enough to get a good parking spot. The parking accomodates about six cars side by side and another five or six parallel parked six inxhes from a wall. We were in the renovated side and the large room and bathroom were decorated in a very contempory style more like something you would find in an upscale North American hotel. All of the furnishings and materials were top quality. The staff were very accomodating and the breakfast was extensive and well prepared. We did stay for dinner on the terrace but found it somewhat disappointing particularly based on the price. One dinner was sent back as it was conservatively only cool rather than hot. None were particularly hot and appeared to have been precooked and warmed up prior to serving. The one meal was recooked(?) but served after the rest of us (three people) had finished their dinner. An apology was given but no offer to adjust the price. This was definitely not first class. We would certainly seek another retaurant in future visites.

We stayed two nights in the Parador Caceres in early July. It was spectacuar. The hotel integrates the modern building into the historical palace very nicely, with a delightful bar/cafeteria in the old courtyard, Take the time to go up and down the staircases - there are many, and lead to delightful nooks and crannies. We had a huge room on the ground floor that was cool and comfortable in the heat of a Spanish summer. The reception staff was friendly and helpful, and dinner and breakfast at the restaurant good. The Parador is in the old town, and it is an easy walk around the monumental city and to the Plaza Mayor and shopping areas of the modern city. We arrived by car, and the signage was very good. Parking is an issue, but we got lucky.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay. Paradors may seem pricy, but this one was worth every cent.

Caceres is beautiful and loved the old town. The hotel is in the old part so very charming but best if you don't have a car. If you have a car, you need to figure your way to get to the street to enter the area of the hotel which is blocked off to residents and hotel guests. You press the button and explain you are a hotel guest and the bar is raised for you. Easier to find parking in this area since it's restricted parking but the streets are extremely narrow and my husband had to move the side mirrors inward to make it through some of the streets, and still extremely tight! You need to be a very good driver! If you find a parking space, park and walk to the hotel. The hotel parking is 4 spaces so don't count on that. The hotel is newly renovated so everything was fresh and new, very nice. However, you don't really get the sense of being in a castle since it's so modern so not sure if worth the extra expense. We were disappointed at check-in no one told us the breakfast is included and we had to pay for it whether we ate or not. As you know the exchange rate, it was not cheap and we missed out our first morning since we were unaware of this. At check-out second morning as we checked our bill and then informed, we left our bags at the lobby and went for breakfast. Very good food, too bad we paid and missed it for our first morning! The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel is very quiet, nice comfortable beds, big room and bathroom.

Delightful town, with the Parador situated perfectly to visit the ancient buildings which are just a few minutes walk away. Cobbled streets lead from the Parador to the Church and we felt privileged to walk out and be immediately amidst the history.

We found parking not so easy - there is virtually nothing available within striking distance and though the Parador advertises garaging being available, it means making arrangements to arrange for the garage to be open and then be driven back to the Parador. Similar problems would exist when collecting the car. The narrow streets of Caceres need some negotiating and drivers without experience might be overawed.

Our room was OK - inevitably a little dark as the facing building was only 3 metres away, but one has to remember that one is in an old town where horses and carriages were the means of transport. Drink in the atmosphere - there are very few places like it, and overall a wonderful experience.

The old city of Caceres is stunning, and also a major surprise as we had hardly even heard of it before ! - we stayed there only because it happened to be on our route North from Morocco. Finding the parador initially was quite difficult.

Reception was friendly and helpful. Parking was good.
Our room was very pleasant, although without a view apart from the street.
The restaurant and public spaces were delightful, and the cuisine and service excellent.
