Parador Bielsa
The Parador of Bielsa is located in a welcoming mountain enclave in the eastern sloping Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park. It was declared to be a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997 and is also a renowned area for enjoying sports and outdoor activities.
The fresh Pyrenees air, the clean waters of the river Cinca or the tradition of the Nuestra Senora de Pineta roman hermitage, will leave you feeling healthy, relaxed and calm.
The floors, walls, and exposed wooden beams and columns are filled with modern and accommodating furniture. Some of the bedrooms have spectacular views over this beautiful natural enclave.
The High Aragon cuisine contains strong flavours and seasoning producing simple but tasty dishes: migas aragonesas (fried breadcrumbs with sausage and grapes), Cinca river trout cooked in sherry, young roast lamb, wild boar stew and teresicas de Aragon (puff pastry dessert).
Information and reservations at Parador of Bielsa

My absolute favorite place on earth! The park is designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO and is just breathtaking. The parador has amazing views and the hiking is great. Bring a good map with you because the one provided by the hotel is not adequate and the trails are not well marked. Enjoy this special spot. We have stayed here twice and have not been disappointed.
The Parador is in a fantastic position with outstanding views of the peaks and waterfalls cascading from them.
The reception staff gave us an efficient and prompt welcome.
Our room seemed to have been newly fitted and had a lovely view.
But their was a massive wedding reception taking place and the bar ,terrace and restaurant were overrun with people and the waiters were run off their feet. After the outside reception the party took over the restaurant for the wedding breakfast which took place before we could have dinner. We would have preferred to enjoy the peace that would normally be possible in this location.
The reception staff were professionel but not very friendly. The interior of the hotel is charming and cosy, and the view from the rooms is just fantastic! The food is good but slightly overpriced.
But the main reason for staying here is to enjoy the breathtaking scenery during the the day. The trail map is not very good though, but we find our way, and we had two unforgettable days in sunsine up in the mountains. Recomended!
Brilliant location with good views from room. Food and service and staff first class.
We had an enjoyable stay despite a day of rain and some snow in late October. Watching the sun catching the mountaintops in the morning (which you can even do from the comfort of your room or the dining room) is wondrous. Once you’re out on the trails, the views (peaks, trees, waterfalls) only get better. You do have to dress warmly, though – the strong winds pouring down the slopes combined with the snow near the tops mean brisk temperatures.
Our breakfasts and dinners were good if not spectacular. The staff were friendly and helpful. People have grumbled about shabbiness and “tired” decor, but our room and the public spaces were well tended. Decor was what I’d expect in a mountain surrounding – heavy on the stone and dark timbers, old-fashioned but quite appropriate to the surroundings (if you want flashy accommodation, go to Las Vegas – don’t try to impose that style on every hotel in the world, I say).
I’ll echo the observation that if they are going to provide trail guides, better ones are in order. A minor complaint – written material, such as interpretive guides _must_ be translated by someone who speaks English. The French guides were okay, but the English ones were flowery nonsense (bad machine translation?). And a really serious complaint – is anyone there and in Cardona, equally guilty, listening? – seventies and eighties English-language pop is not appropriate anywhere but in down-at-heel seaside discos! It certainly does not belong in the reading lounge or the dining room! I’m not the only one to say this – the comment book is full of complaints about this. Occasionally, some very nice instrumental music was played (lightly jazzy, not so zingy as to get anyone upset). If they must play background music, that’s the ticket, and I hope they read and act on this comment before we go back, which we’d very much like to do.
We arrived after a spectacular drive down from Bilbao but the weather was superb and stayed so throughout our 2-day stay at Bielsa.
Warm and friendly reception, a delightful room and views to die for.
Ever-changing images from our room of mountains, waterfalls, shadows and access to terraces and the bar with even more of the same.
The restaurant, service and the quality of the food were to the high standard we have experienced on paradors elsewhere.
We had both had a hectic month prior to departure so we did very little but flop out. An incentive to return (which we shall) will be the various walks from the hotel – we tried one or two but decided against anything too demanding.
Hardly explored the vicinity – although in high summer there were large numbers of walkers and climbers about. Something else for next time.
A faultless location and a perfect place to relax.

I would really have like to stay at this Parador – I was booked in to it but as I was travelling from France to it, I was not advised that the two tunnels and one road over the Pyrenees were closed for road repairs and there was not viable alternative route – an email or text to that effect would have been helpful – maybe next time………….
If there was any other way to wake up and look out the window, I’d like to know. Snow cap during the day, sun in the morning and France for lunch.
Perfect!
There were four of use trraveling together for three weeks. One of our favorite spots.
We enjoyed our stay at Parador Bielsa – beautiful views from the room. The room itself was in need of renovation especially the old old bathroom (which had a large crack right through the vanity basin). The food was ok bearing in mind that in order to eat elsewhere you had to drive about 20 minutes to the nearest town on a very winding road and even then, there may have been nothing open! Some very interesting and picturesque little towns in the vicinity.
What a different but gorgeous parador! The staff is unbelievably friendly and bilingual. The rooms and public areas are charming. The place had a very familial feel to it. They could use slightly better trail maps than the ones we got but the ones we got were good enough and we didn’t get lost! We suggested getting a guided tour to take a group in the mornings, which is surprising that they don’t do. The food was good (not the best we ate at the price but a great meal) but the scenery and temperature in late August was perfect! We were there after heavy rains so the waterfalls were magnificent. I would definitely go out of our way to stay again.
Fantastic decor of mountains all around, very nice room with a splendid view, and a very good service on the terrace also.
At the reception desk a very friendly lady assisted us and explained how we could get a permission from local authorities, to make a wonderfull offroad 4X4 trip in those local mountains.
One of the reasons why we will never forget Parador Bielsa.
Very good reception and information. Our room was very nice at the end of the corridor with good views. The food was extremely well presented and good value.
On the down side we were disappointed that the hotel’s smoking policy made it impossible for us to use the bar and sometimes the lounge was difficult because of smokers.
Apart from that we really enjoyed out stay!
The hotel is in a spectacular setting, we had a tough journey from Bilbao so were ready to sit on the terrace at the bar and enjoy a bottle of wine, surrounded by mountains.
The room was perfect, clean and spacious.
We really enjoyed our stay!
